This Subie was my daily driver until I got a new car. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION, car must go, I have too many. High bidder gets it. Runs and is drivable and the A/C is ice cold but needs some things done. Fine to be driven home locally but don't plan on driving it thousands of miles.
1. Needs the driver side head changed. I did the passenger side about 10,000 miles ago and it was good for a while. I pulled the motor and did head gaskets, water pump, timing belt, and so on when I first bought the car. Put it all back together and found out that there was a problem with the valves on the passenger side causing misfire code in number one cylinder so I replaced the head on that side, that cleared up the code. It's now starting to use about a quart every 1000 miles so I suspect it's time to replace the other head. The good news is that I have the complete driver side head that goes with the car. I just didn't get to installing it.
2. Windshield is cracked on passenger side but passed inspection last year.
3. Has evap control system malfunction code. Probably needs the fuel filler neck replaced. Not a big deal.
4. Will need front wheel bearings, driver side first. I have a brand new hub, bearing and seals that I bought but never got to install. Parts go with the car.
Tires are about 80% snow tires. I used to run summer and winter tires on the car but I'm keeping my summer set for my trailer. I put the stock factory radio back in, has a tape player but not sure if it works or not. I put the Subaru wiring harness adapter in the glove box so the new owner has it when he/she puts a good radio in. I have the drip catcher from under the engine, a few front end parts, and evap control parts in a box, the good driver side head, and new hub, bearing and seals in the back that all goes with the car. I was getting 24-25 highway with it. GREAT IN THE SNOW!!!
I can't really think of anything else. Once the 4 issues above are addressed, the car will be good for many more miles I think. Would be a good car to fix up for a college student or teen driver. Fix it the rest of the summer and it will be ready for when school starts. They are VERY easy to work on. I can have the motor out in an hour or two. The starting bid is VERY LOW compared to what the car is worth and NO RESERVE because I need the car to sell. High bidder gets it. Payment in cash, NO PAYPAL. Must be picked up locally, I will not ship the car.
Ask any questions you may have and please don't bid if you don't have the money to pay for it. I have had a very good experience on e-bay over the years and 100% positive feedback reflects that.

UK designer to make WRX Concept-aping body kit for production Subaru
Sun, 23 Feb 2014Remember the Subaru WRX Concept shown at the 2013 New York Auto Show, the one almost everyone loved but no one expected Subaru to make? Indeed, that Parnassian "design statement" led to a production design that came from a good middle class neighborhood known for its office parks and pasture land. UK designer Michael Bond is offering to change that, the man behind the yet-to-be-produced Rumbler "Superhero Utility Vehicle" touting the Subaru WRX Concept 13, which would take a customer's new WRX and turn it into something pretty close to the original concept.
That means new front and rear clips, including a redesigned rear diffuser to increase downforce, but a spoiler can be installed if the buyer decides that what he wants. The car won't be an exact replica of the NYIAS concept since that would infringe on Subaru's intellectual property, but it isn't clear yet how the design would be altered. Bond's site says that once he gets 50 confirmed orders, his team will order a WRX and begin the process of creating the new bodywork. It is claimed that once work begins, it will be four to six months to "[present] a completed model for public view."
Bond says the price will come down depending on the number of orders beyond 50, but doesn't give any indication of how much those first 50 cars could cost. If you're keen, though, head over to the site and fill out the enquiry form. Who knows if the Concept 13 will happen, but so far this is the best chance you have of getting what could have been.
Subaru plans biggest-ever global recall over brake lights
Fri, Mar 1 2019TOKYO — Subaru Corp plans to recall around 2.3 million vehicles globally over a brake light problem, in what would be the automaker's biggest-ever recall as it grapples with a series of quality-related issues following rapid expansion. Japan's sixth-largest automaker told Reuters on Friday that it was recalling nearly 2 million of its popular Impreza and Forester models in the United States, its biggest market, and other countries, along with around 300,000 units in Japan to fix a fault with the brake light switch which can lead to ignition problems. Vehicles affected were produced from 2008 through 2017. If all of the identified vehicles are recalled, it would be the automaker's biggest in terms of affected units, excluding the ongoing Takata airbag recall. Since late 2017, Subaru has been reeling from a host of problems ranging from faulty components to inspection re-dos which, coupled with weakening sales in the United States, has forced the automaker to slash its full-year profit outlook to its weakest in six years. Quality-related issues have cast a pall on the automaker which enjoyed years of rapid growth in the United States, where it won over affluent and liberal-minded consumers with advertisements featuring slogans championing love and inclusion. Such branding boosted the image of the relatively tiny automaker, prompting it to ramp up production in the United States, which accounts for around 60 percent of its global sales volume. But in January, Subaru halted production at its sole car factory in Japan for nearly two weeks, holding up roughly 60 percent of its global output after it found a defect in a power steering component. Late last year, it announced a global recall of its signature boxer engines over an issue with its valve springs, while it has launched a series of domestic recalls for re-inspections after it admitted to cheating on testing processes. Subaru suing CA dealership for alleged false customer surveys
Sat, Feb 14 2015Whenever you buy a new car from a dealer these days or sometimes even go in for service, you can expect to fill out a customer satisfaction survey at some point down the road. The responses are actually quite important to showrooms because automakers require the businesses to keep things at a certain level or face penalties. However, a Subaru dealer allegedly found a way to game that system, at least briefly, and now the Subaru of America has filed a lawsuit in US District Court for breach of contract. South Coast Subaru in Costa Mesa, CA, reportedly falsified 224 customer satisfaction questionnaires in 2014, according to Automotive News. The scheme wasn't that hard to figure out, though. All of the faked surveys were allegedly submitted through the IP address of an Acura showroom managed by the same dealer. Under normal circumstances when someone buys a Subaru, the dealer is supposed to collect the customer's email address and submit it to the automaker. However, South Coast allegedly presented false addresses, and then managers had employees fill the forms out during lunch. Subaru claimed in the suit that by doing this the dealer harmed the company's product reputation and its goodwill among customers. "Defendants prevented Subaru from discovering the actual customer satisfaction level of Subaru retail customers at South Coast Subaru by providing sham customer surveys to [Subaru]," the complaint said, according to Automotive News.
