2008 Subaru Impreza Wrx Wagon 4-door 2.5l Hatchback on 2040-cars
Terre Haute, Indiana, United States
Up for sale is my 2008 WRX hatchback. 87,300 miles and counting. Stage 1 Torqued Performance tune since I
bought it when it had 30k miles on it. The car is primarily my daily driver and
has never been autocrossed, rallied, road raced, pulled, shifted hard, or even
redlined. Other than when I got the car
tuned on a Torqued Performance tune, it has been babied. I use to drive to work, visit my girlfriend,
and cart my bicycles around, and that’s about it. That being said, the car does have an
extensive list of modifications, all of which were done by me personally and a
very good friend and trusted mechanic, so everything has been done
correctly. Most of the mods, however,
are NOT power mods. The only and very
few engine-related mods were done while servicing something else that made whatever
part easy to replace, and the tune has been adjusted for the engine-related
mods. Most of the work went into
bettering the interior, chassis, suspension, and making the car nicer rather
than faster. Car has $7,800 worth of
aftermarket parts. THE BAD.
Hillstart-assist and traction control don’t work. The lights came on two years ago and the car
works perfectly other than those lights being on. ABS still works, but no traction control and
hillstart-assist. To fix this might be
as simple as plugging in a wire or something, but I just didn’t want to mess
with it as it doesn’t affect the function and performance of a car. Airbag light recently came on for a bad
driver’s airbag, which I had replaced with a new one. That code went away, but the airbag light is
still on. I did an STI center console swap and STI front seat swap. Wheels and tires came off a 0 mile 2012 WRX and
have 1.5 summers of easy, oldman driving on them. Torqued Performance tune/Cobb Accessport
comes with the car. Tune is solid and
has been adjusted for the composite TGV deletes so that there are no CELs. Acceleration is buttery smooth. Nothing like the Cobb OTS maps or the OEM
map. Rotella T6 full synthetic oil
changed every 3k miles on the dot by me personally. Only Subaru OEM oil filters used. Full sound deadening on both inside and
outside door skins on all four doors and the hatch lid and floor. HID low beams from The Retrofit Source, 4300K
pure white. None of the weird blue color
you see with other HIDs. LED interior
lights, license plate bulbs, and LED switchback turn signals. Full list of mods is included. The car will be sold as it sits. No parts will be taken off to decrease the
value. I am getting out of the Subaru
game entirely, so I don’t want to mess with parting it out. I am selling the car simply because it’s time
to move on. Nothing more, nothing less. Never smoked in and never had any animals in it. Pricing: $15,000.
Cash or cashier’s check. If using
cashier’s check, then the car and title will not be handed over until my bank
has cleared the funds. NO payment plans. NO
trades. NO lowballs. Reasonable offers will be considered. The car accelerates, runs, stops, and corners
perfectly and without defect. Test
drives for serious buyers only. NO test
drives without me present in the car. NO
hard accelerating, braking, shifting, etc, during a test drive. If you test drive the car, know that it is
still my car and will be driven lightly.
NO joyrides. NO joyrides. NO joyrides.
Buyer will be required to sign a bill of sale at the time of purchase. No minors without their parents/decision
makers present. Be confident and
knowledgeable of how to drive a 5-speed.
You will not be learning in my car.
And again, reasonable offers will be considered.

Spy photos show 2017 Subaru BRZ facelift
Tue, Mar 22 2016As it transitions to the Toyota 86, the Scion FR-S isn't the only version of the joint Toyota/Subaru sports car that's getting a facelift. The BRZ is getting a nip and tuck, and here's our first look. Posted on the FT86Club forum are pictures of what appears to be the 2017 Subaru BRZ, hot on the heels of the recently-revised Toyota 86. The changes look rather subtle, but stand at least to keep the Subaru model up to pace with its Toyota counterpart. And for those less than enamored of the new curves applied to the 86, these updates may just be enough to tip the balance in Fuji Heavy's favor. The front end appears to keep the same grille shape as the existing model, but the vents on either side of it have changed, with little winglets bisecting. Gone are the auxiliary lights, apparently integrated into the new headlights that pack fresh elements. The taillights appear to be updated in similar fashion as well. Inside more auxiliary controls are now integrated into the steering wheel in front of the instrument binnacle with a new set of gauges. There's seems to be a new infotainment head unit in the dashboard and some updated interior trim as well. Of course the big question will be whether the refreshed BRZ will get any boost in power or other mechanical upgrades like Toyota's given the new 86, but for that we'll just have to stay patient for the time being as look forward to seeing the Toyota version in the metal at the New York Auto Show this week. Watch a Subaru BRZ nail world-record tightest 360 spin
Tue, Jan 19 2016How much space do you need to execute a full 360? Less than two car lengths, as it turns out. But you'd need to be someone like Alastair Moffatt to pull it off. The British stunt driver added another Guinness-certified world record at the Autosport International show in Birmingham, England, the other day when he executed a complete 360-degree turn in just 21.3 feet. 14 of those feet were taken by the Subaru BRZ he drove to accomplish the feat – naturally with the ABS and traction control disengaged. That left just 7.4 feet (2.25 meters) of clearance to flip the car all the way around, which bagged him the record for the world's tightest 360-degree spin that previously stood at 8.2 feet (2.5 meters). He didn't manage the feat just once: after extensive practicing, Moffatt performed the stunt in front of a cheering crowd, and then repeated it under tightly controlled conditions for the record adjudicators. This isn't the first such world-record stunt that Moffatt has pulled off, either. He previously scored the records for the tightest parallel parking job and for the same in reverse. Watch him accomplish his latest in the video above. SUBARU BRZ GETS IN A SPIN FOR GUINNESS WORLD RECORD - Rear-wheel drive Subaru BRZ sets new world record for tightest 360° spin - Stunt driver Alastair Moffatt secures record at 2016 Autosport Show Subaru has again demonstrated the agility and precision handling prowess of its rear-wheel drive BRZ sportscar by securing the Guinness World Record for the 'Tightest 360° spin'. The record was secured at the Autosport International Show over the weekend, with the BRZ in capable hands of former world record holder Alastair Moffat. Stunt-driver ace Alastair Moffatt broke the previous 2.5-metre Guinness World Record, which was achieved in 2014, by flicking the BRZ into a 360° spin between two obstacles in Autosport International's Live Action Arena. Moffatt has previous experience setting daring Guinness World Records, including 'Tightest Reverse Parallel Park' and 'Tightest Parallel Park', the latter established at the 2015 Autosport show. The 4.24-metre-long Subaru BRZ is renowned for its low centre of gravity – lower than many high-end supercars – and naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre 'Boxer' engine, making the BRZ one of the most exciting and engaging cars on the road In order for Alastair to have maximise control over the car throughout the manoeuvre, the traction control was switched off and ABS disengaged.
Subaru WRX Concept hints at big performance, offers few facts

We're looking at a design statement only at this point.
Subaru has dropped the curtain on its truly attractive WRX Concept and, as previewed a few days ago, we're fast fans of the wide, low, muscular sedan. The concept car looks great, but there was a distinct lack of information being offered about the next-generation WRX that is sure to follow this concept - we're looking at a design statement only at this point.
