2005 Subaru Outback 2.5i Awd Wagon 111k Miles Clean Dealer Serviced on 2040-cars
Ottsville, Pennsylvania, United States
The Subaru Outback pictured extensively BELOW (2 - two - youtube videos & 82 - eighty-two - enlarged photographs) has proven very dependable since my purchase from A&T Subaru (Sellersville, PA) 06 Dec '13 with 105,916 miles miles. Equipped with new tires (mounted and balanced by Creamery Tire Inc. 24 Dec '13), it proved very valuable getting around in the snow last winter; and the heated seats were indeed an added interior comfort. I have since leased a pickup truck and need to sell this (4-door) Outback to make the monthly payments. This Subaru is paid off, and the title of ownership is in hand - ready for transfer at a notary to a new owner. It currently has 111,760 miles. Needless to mention, this Subaru still looks very nice with only minor cosmetic issues listed above. The interior is very clean and has NEVER been subject to smoke, water, etc. There is very little rust on the underneath side, as pictured, owed to always keeping it as clean as possible, even in the winter. Please see the pictures to prove to yourself how nice it is. Following are some maintenance details:
Lube, oil, and filter services have been performed on a regular basis. At 89,486 miles (Nov '11), the front brakes were replaced. At 94,137 miles (Mar '12), a 60,000-mile recommended maintenance was performed - replaced oil, oil filter, engine coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, differential fluid, cabin air filter, spark plugs, air filter, inspected brake and entire system, steering and suspension, belts and hoses, axle boots and shafts, and fuel lines. At 100,948 miles (June '13), the rear brakes were replaced. At 105,635 miles (Oct '13), the head gaskets, water pump, AND timing belt were all replaced. All the work was performed by A&T Subaru (Sellersville, PA), where I purchased the vehicle. This Subaru is sold AS IS (that is - as captured in video and as pictured in photographs) via cash/check (once cleared) only - payment required in full before transferring ownership/title DURING NOTARY HOURS. Payment in full must be received within 10 days of the auction close, or the buyer will be reported and the ad relisted. This vehicle is located in OTTSVILLE, PA 18942 PICK-UP ONLY. Please see two (2) youtube videos and eighty-two (82) enlarged photographs below for additional visual detail.

Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Subaru expand global Takata recalls by 715k [UPDATE]
Fri, May 22 2015UPDATE: Subaru of America spokesperson Michael McHale tells Autoblog that the company is recalling 78,000 Imprezas from the 2004 and 2005 model years in the US. This is a national expansion of the company's previous regional recall for the Impreza. The Takata airbag inflator recall just keeps growing. The latest expansion encompasses 715,000 vehicles from Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Subaru. Many of the affected models are in Japan. The largest expansion from these three automakers comes from Mitsubishi. According to Reuters, the company is adding 100,000 vehicles in Japan and 412,000 outside of the country without identifying any specific regions. Mazda is issuing safety campaigns for 112,000 vehicles in Japan, and some of these include models that the company produces there for Mitsubishi and Nissan, according to Reuters. In statement to Autoblog (embedded below), Mazda said that it is still evaluating the situation in terms of a possible effect on the US. Finally, Subaru is calling in 91,000 Imprezas in Japan. At this time, it isn't clear whether Mitsubishi's or Subaru's expansions affect the United States, but Autoblog has reached out to them for more information. According to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, exposure to moisture can cause the propellant in these inflators to ignite too quickly and cause these dangerous ruptures. Takata has also been investigating the problem. Related Video: Mazda statement "We are aware of the NHTSA/Takata announcement, and are evaluating the effects of it on Mazda. As soon as we have had a chance to fully evaluate the situation – number of vehicles affected, age of those vehicles, where they're located, etc. – we will be able to share those details."
Autoblog Minute: VW Q3 financial woes, 2015 Tokyo Motor Show
Fri, Oct 30 2015Consumer Reports pulls its Tesla recommendation, the U.S. Copyright Office offers a ruling affecting car owners, VW gets hit hard with third-quarter losses, and lots of exciting news from Tokyo. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Consumer Reports pulls its Tesla recommendation, the U.S. copyright office offers a ruling that affects car owners and gear heads, VW gets hit hard with third-quarter losses, and lots of exciting news from Tokyo. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. After a week away testing vehicles for Autoblog's Tech of the Year award, we're back in the office to recap the week in automotive news. [00:00:30] One of the things you might have missed was Consumer Reports pulling its recommendation of Tesla's Model S sedan. The blemish for Tesla comes after a tally of reviews from customer surveys. The most common problem areas for the Model S as cited by survey takers included: the drivetrain, power equipment, charging equipment, body and sunroof squeaks, rattles, and leaks. So lots of stuff. Though they could not ignore a score of "worse-than-average", Consumer Reports still [00:01:00] highlighted the fact that the Model S was "the best performing car" they've ever tested. Telsa CEO Elon Musk took to social media to defend his sedans saying: "Consumer Reports reliability survey includes a lot of early production cars. Already addressed in new cars." And, "Tesla gets top rating of any company in service. Most important, CR says 97% of owners expect their next car to be a Tesla (the acid test)." In Financial news, Volkswagen took a hit and reported an operating loss of [00:01:30] $3.84 billion. This is the first such loss for VW in 15 years. Toyota reclaimed the crown as the world's largest automaker as well. It's important that it's not all doom and gloom for VW though in Q3. Sales revenues were up and the company's automotive division boasts $30 billion dollars in liquid assets. It's a sizable war chest that will no doubt come in handy, as the company has yet to feel the full brunt of the diesel emissions scandal. Good news for gear heads. The US copyright office [00:02:00] ruled in favor of mechanics and car owners by granting an exception to existing copyright law. The law was originally meant to prevent software pirating and bootlegging of Hollywood movies.
Subaru puts China production on hold amidst slowing growth
Thu, Jan 22 2015Subaru's 2015 sales and production forecast estimates the Japanese brand to sell about 60,000 vehicles in China this year, a 10 percent rise. However, a recent decision not to build a factory there might make future growth more difficult. Given the changing state of the market, the automaker doesn't seem concerned by the potentially lost sales. According to Bloomberg, even if the Chinese government gave permission for Subaru to build its planned joint venture factory with Chery, the Japanese brand would not take advantage of it. "Since the profits are split with your partner, you would have to double the sales to maintain the profits you earn by exporting from Japan," said Akira Mabuchi, the company's executive in charge of China, according to Bloomberg. Subaru is in the odd position of being the only major Japanese automaker without a joint venture partner to build cars in China, but the massive year-over-year growth there seems to be slowing. Auto sales in China were up 6.9 percent in 2014, according to Bloomberg, compared to 14 percent in 2013. Also, Chinese consumers have been famously averse to buying Japanese vehicles with only half of the consumers there even willing to purchase one. Instead, the company is focusing on the US market, according to Bloomberg. The decision makes sense. While Subie's sales in China shrunk 2 percent in 2014 to about 55,000 vehicles, the company grew 21 percent in the US to 514,000 units. The automaker already has plans to add capacity to its factory in Indiana. News Source: BloombergImage Credit: Jae C. Hong / AP Photo Plants/Manufacturing Subaru
