I have owned this outback for a year and a half now, I bought it from a used subaru dealer who replaced the timing belt, head gaskets and the clutch when i bought it at 152,000 miles, the car now has 164,000. I am the second owner of the car, and it has run flawlessly since i bought it. The transmission shifts great and the engine has plenty of power. The interior is about a 6/10 because of one spot on the dash from where a gps was mounted and normal wear. the exterior is a 5/10, there are no dents or scratches but the rear wheel wells have just started to rust in the same spot that all outbacks do, where the two body panels meet. other than that the cars is halfway decent for the year and the mileage. In the past 6 months i have replaced the front and rear pads, front rotors, exhaust from the cat back (oem replacement). The car handles great and is a joy to drive. if you have any questions feel free to ask, I will be happy to answer them. I am selling because i plan to buy a new car and have no need for more than one car. thanks, Alex

Subaru recalls WRX and Forester 2.0XT for turbo intake problem
Tue, Apr 5 2016The Basics: Subaru will recall 18,200 examples of the 2015-2016 WRX and Forester 2.0XT. The WRX's have production dates between April 10, 2015, and October 21, 2015, and the Foresters come from April 10, 2015, to October 20, 2015. The Problem: The turbocharger intake duct can crack, which could cause the engine to run rough or stall. According to Subaru, this problem happens because a supplier used an incorrect material for a specific production lot of parts. Accidents/Injuries: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will inspect the turbocharger air intake duct. If the part is from the affected lot, then owners get a replacement. If you own one: Subaru hasn't yet told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration when this recall would begin. RECALL Subject : Turbocharger Intake Duct Crack may cause Stall Report Receipt Date: MAR 21, 2016 NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V162000 Component(s): ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Potential Number of Units Affected: 18,200 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) SUBARU FORESTER 2015-2016 SUBARU WRX 2015-2016 Details Manufacturer: Subaru of America, Inc. The turbocharger air intake duct may crack and possibly result in an engine stall. CONSEQUENCE: An engine stall increases the risk of a crash. REMEDY: Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the turbocharger air intake duct, and replace it as necessary, free of charge, depending on the lot number found on the duct. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-800-782-2783. Subaru's number for this recall is WTA-62. NHTSA releases updated Takata airbag recalled cars list, but it still has errors
Wed, 22 Oct 2014
Unfortunately, the government's list still contains errors.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued an updated list of vehicle models that it's urging owners to repair under the mushrooming Takata airbag inflator recall. The latest version adds vehicles from new automakers like Subaru and Ford that are missing from the original announcement, and it also removes erroneous entries from General Motors, leaving only the 2005 Saab 9-2X (a reskinned Subaru WRX), and the 2003-2005 Pontiac Vibe, a joint project with Toyota.
Automotive April Fools' joke roundup [w/videos]
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Happy April, everyone. And we all know what this first day of the month means: April Fools' Day. Today is a national holiday for pranksters with the Internet acting as a serious enabler, and it's always fun to see what kind of vivid imaginations exist out there in the automotive world. The abundance of fake news gets a little old as the day rolls on, but we did manage to get in a few chuckles thanks to a handful of major automakers and automotive news outlets that got into the pranking spirit this year
Some of our favorites this year includes Subaru showing what happens when you combine a bunch of rumors, a Corvette some may have already thought was a joke or Honda providing some in-car innovation circa the late 1980s. Honestly, we're still waiting for official confirmation from Mitsubishi that the recently introduced 2014 Mirage is an elaborate April Fools' joke using a failed design intended for the 1995 Geo Metro. We dug up as much "official" OEM foolishness we could find, as well as some of our other favorites, and posted them all below.
