Due to a non-paying winner, I am listing this again. If you are not 100% fully sure or committed to following through, please just pass this auction up. Ask questions 1st before you bid, I do not like having to retract bids. I have to pay listing fees regardless if you change your mind, this is wasting my time and money to keep having to re-list and not getting any reward in return. Due to the faulty actions of past bidders, I now require a $100, non-refundable deposit via PayPal 24 Hours after the close of the auction to guarantee that the winning bidder is serious.
This is a NO RESERVE auction for my 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback, 30th Anniversary Limited Edition model. The interior has dark gray leather upholstery (both of the front seats are heated but not powered) with gray carpets. There is a sun-roof and a moon-roof, all properly functioning. For the age of the vehicle, the body & interior are in good condition, with some overall blemishes. Note the Driver's Front Door was replaced with a 2001 model year, per the previous owner. There are a few spots of rust here & there, see pictures. The front tires only have about 30% tread remaining, the back tires have about 80% tread remaining. All electronic functions work well. Heat & A/C work well. There is a 6 CD Disc, Subaru, Panasonic Factory changer and sub-woofer under the front seats, see pics. There is a Weather Band Radio Station that comes in handy on those messy days. Only things to note are that the car downshifts hard from 3rd to 2nd gear and the AWD system works intermittently. Please ask any and all questions early. There is a current VA inspection sticker until January 2014. Currently gets around 27 mpg consistently. If you have below a feedback score of 10, you must contact me 1st prior to bidding... Car must be picked up, I will not ship. Car needs to be picked up in a timely manner, preferably within 2 weeks. A $100, non-refundable, deposit is required through Pay-Pal 24 Hours upon close of the auction. Please contact me within 24 hours after auction close to make arrangements to pick up the vehicle. The remaining winning bid must be paid by cash upon picking up the vehicle..NO EXCEPTIONS! If these requirements are not met, I will report you through the proper channels. DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS, this is a legal contract. Thank You & Happy Bidding. |

Subaru brings back the Barkley dogs in new TV spots
Tue, Jan 23 2018Who let the dogs out? Subaru did. And they're bringing them back. The company announced it's bringing back the Barkley family of Labradors and Golden Retrievers for a new series of TV spots called "Dog Tested. Dog Approved." Subaru aired the four 30-second ads during the 24th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, which it has sponsored for 14 years. They'll repeat on network and cable broadcasts and feature in targeted digital and social media promotions. Subaru used the Barkleys most recently to unveil its new Ascent three-row SUV during its "Welcome to SubaruVille" event at the L.A. Auto Show late last year. The stunt was widely deemed adorable. The family of dogs have appeared in the automaker's ads as far back as 2009. "With more than half of Subaru drivers having pets, we believe it is important to celebrate the love of pets shared by our owners," Alan Bethke, senior vice president of marketing at Subaru of America, said in a statement. "Pets are considered members of our Subaru family and utilizing the Barkleys in our campaigns allows us to connect with our customers in an authentic, fun and entertaining way." The new ads are "Car Wash," embedded atop this post; "Drop Off," about the first day of obedience school; "Driving Lesson," in which a parallel parking lesson is complicated by passing geese; and "Drive Away," about a teenage dog being picked up by his father at the Dog Bowl. Subaru said it will also sponsor this year's "Puppy Bowl XIV," which airs February 4 on Animal Planet on the same day as the Super Bowl, and it plans to partner with BuzzFeed and Funny or Die on custom content branded with the hash tag #MakeADogsDay later on in the campaign. Subaru partners with animal welfare organizations like the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as part of its Subaru Loves Pets campaign.Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Subaru broke its own Isle of Man record with a 550-hp WRX STI
Tue, Jun 7 2016Well, they did it. Subaru of America, Prodrive, and driver Mark Higgins set out to break their own record on the Isle of Man's Snaefell Mountain Course, and the attempt was a success. Higgins covered the 37-mile course in the 2016 WRX STI Time Attack car in 17 minutes, 35 seconds. That's an average speed of 128.73 mph. Average. In a car. Higgins set the previous record, 19:26 at 116.47 mph, in a more-stock STI. He and Subaru of America have been bringing cars to the site of the motorcycle race for years now, setting automotive records as all along, but this one is going to be pretty tough to top. Subaru Prodrive Isle of Man View 4 Photos It comes pretty close to the overall lap record for the course, which was set over the weekend by Michael Dunlop. The rider set a 16-minute, 58.254-second lap in the RST Superbike TT, averaging about 133 mph. The fact the Subaru comes so close to the best bike time is pretty amazing. This year's Isle of Man TT weekend was marked by the deaths of two riders. Fatalities are a regular occurrence at the historic race around the island, but it continues to be held year after year with hundreds of participants. Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?
Thu, 25 Sep 2014People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
