My 2000 Subaru Outback has never been abused and was always in the care of either a Subaru dealer or a highly qualified Import Specialist with a great knowledge of these fine SUVs. Being a LIMITED edition, the car was delivered from the factory with an almost full load of options. The only 2 things that the car does not have are leather upholstery and a sun roof. the car has absolutelly no mechanical issues, maintenance is up to date - all the oils and filters were changed about 450 kms ago, including both differentials and the automatic transmission. At the same time the catalytic converters and related gaskets were replaced, using high quality Walker parts, covered by a 5 year warranty. Front and rear brakes were serviced, pads and rotors replaced, as well as the hand brake shoes and hardware. A new thermostat and gasket were installed, together with the necessary coolant replacement, as well as a new knock sensor was installed because the old one set intermittently a code and could not be considered reliable any more. Front and rear wiper blades were replaced and the front wiper linkeage was removed, cleaned and lubricated and re-installed. Every system on the car is working as intended by the factory, including the A/C and the heated front seats. The car comes equipped with factory floor mats and a factory trunk cover. On the roof is a factory luggage carrier. The windshield and the power mirrors are heated for added safety in the cold part of the year. The heater system can deal with the Canadian winter without any difficulties and the All Wheel Drive makes driving through the winter fun. There is a factory sound system in the car, featuring FM/AM/CD and Tape. The very stylish wood trim on the inside of the car makes one forget that under the hood this is one of the most reliable work horses, that anyone could ask for. I have the car advertised for sale in another venue as well and reserve the right to end this auction at any time. I will answer any questions, related to this auction, as promptly as possible by e-mail. Please do not ask"what is your reserve?"; it would not be right to disclose this information in an auction. I will make every effort to meet with interested parties at their convenience in the Halton Region and, once inspected in person, might consider a "sell it now offer".

Thank you for looking at my ad and GOOD LUCK BIDDING !

Subaru PHEV coming later this year using Toyota Prius Prime tech

Fri, Feb 9 2018

Subaru plans to release an all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid later this year, and has joined forces with a league of Japanese automakers and suppliers to make it happen. Subaru has said the PHEV will be a conversion of a current model, but hasn't named the model. The prominent hybrid bits are expected to come from the Toyota Prius Prime — Toyota has a 16.5 percent stake in Subaru — but Subaru will retain its longitudinally mounted boxer engine. We know that said Subie will be built in Japan and sent to the U.S, so theories have coalesced around the Crosstrek or Forester, built at Subaru's Gunma, Japan factory. The Crosstrek was just redesigned for 2018, the 2019 Forester is expected sometime this year. If the model ends up being a Crosstrek PHEV, that would mean hybrid lightning striking that car twice: Subaru introduced a Crosstrek Hybrid in 2013, then removed it from the market in 2017 after slow sales. Assuming a wholesale transplant from the Prius Prime, the Subaru PHEV would get an 8.8-kWh lithium-ion battery that can be recharged at a household outlet in under six hours. The Prius Prime is rated at 133 mpge, 54 mpg combined, and runs for 25 miles in EV mode, but Subaru's model being all-wheel drive will likely alter those numbers. Subaru will launch its PHEV first in the 10 states that adhere to California's Zero Emissions Vehicle program. The PHEV is part of the Japanese carmaker's multi-year plan to reduce its fleet emissions, first described four years ago. Come 2020, the trademark boxer engines should come with cylinder deactivation and lean burning Atkinson cycles, around the same time that Subaru stops turbodiesel sales in Europe and Australia. The brand's first full EVs are due in 2021, expected to be electric versions of conventionally powered models. To jumpstart its EV research, and make its comparatively small R&D budget stretch further, last year Subaru joined in on the EV Common Architecture Spirit Company with Toyota, Mazda, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Denso and Hino. Subaru BRZ with 362-hp, 2.4-liter V8 is the best thing you'll hear today

Wed, Feb 11 2015

Whenever the Subaru BRZ and its Toyota twin are talked about, the conversation inevitably turns to whether they would be even better sports coupes with more power. Since their introduction, rumors have popped up suggesting possibilities like more displacement, turbocharging or even a hybrid setup to increase horsepower, but nothing has come to pass. Japanese tuner Jun Auto has decided on a completely different way to boost performance by chucking the 2.0-liter boxer four-cylinder entirely in place of a beautiful 2.4-liter V8. According to the YouTube description for this clip, the engine is based on two of the 1.2-liter inline four-cylinder units from a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R motorcycle. The result is a mill that makes a claimed 362 horsepower and revs to over 11,000 rpm. It also sounds like automotive nirvana. Finished in an eye-catching contrast of bright yellow paint with white wheels and a black wing at the back, the V8 BRZ certainly doesn't hide its performance, either. Subaru Ascent three-row SUV set for 2018 launch

Wed, Apr 12 2017

Subaru revealed a three-row SUV concept Wednesday at the New York Auto Show in a surprise move that signals its return to the large utility segment in 2018. Called the Ascent concept, the show car had a turbocharged boxer 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and will be revealed in production trim next fall at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Ascent will be built in Lafayette, Ind., and is exclusive to the North American market. It will have room for up to eight passengers, offer all-wheel drive, and will be based on a modified version of Subaru's latest global platform. A hybrid is possible on those underpinnings, but a Subaru spokesman wouldn't comment on that prospect. Subaru has not had a three-row ute since the Tribeca was killed off in 2014. View 17 Photos With Volkswagen adding the Atlas and existing SUV makers like Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda, and others all putting greater emphasis on the large utility segment, Subaru felt compelled to respond. The company also expects the Millennial generation to make up a significant portion of Ascent buyers. "This is a product that allows that generation that grew up liking Subaru to stay with us," Subaru of America president Tom Doll said at the show. The Ascent concept's styling cues have evolved from the previous Visiv-7 concept and offer a better look at what the production model will look like. The Ascent concept measures 198.8 inches long, 78.3 inches wide and 72.4 inches tall. The wheelbase is 117 inches - signaling Subaru is serious about competing with large SUV producers. Subaru is spending $140 million and adding more 1,200 jobs at Lafayette to support the Ascent and bolster its US manufacturing footprint. Related Video:
