Vehicle Description

We purchased this Subaru Legacy from an insurance company.  The vehicle had previously sustained fresh water damage.  When the vehicle arrived the carpet was damp so we purchased and installed new carpet in the vehicle.  It appears that the water reached the lower seat tracks.  We also had to replace the airbag module due to it being shorted out from the water damage.  We checked all of the vehicles fluids for water contamination.  The engine oil was free of water but the transmission did have water in it so we performed a transmission flush.  This Legacy now runs and drives excellent in its current condition with no issues found in the engine, transmission, suspension, cooling and/or electrical.  There are no warning lights illuminated on the dash or any musty odors from the water damage.  All of the minor body blemishes are visible in the photos.  For questions or to set up a time to test drive this vehicle please call our office M-F 8:30-5:00 at 248-446-8289.

Disclosure Agreement

Every vehicle we sell is subject to a $135 buyers fee.  Michigan residents must pay 6% sales tax and a $15 title fee.  License plate fees will vary.  We accept cashiers checks, bank wire transfers, cash, Paypal and credit cards (with applicable fees).
WE SELL REPAIRABLES AS IS, WHERE IS. These vehicles have been damaged by collision, fire, theft, flood, or paid off by an insurance company due to a total loss. All buyers are advised to personally inspect our vehicles prior to bidding. Once you are the successful bidder, the sale is considered final, for better or worse. The term LOT DRIVES means we have driven this vehicle in our parking lot only, at speeds below 10 miles per hour. We will not drive these damaged vehicles on the road, we have not checked all of the fluid levels, and cannot predict how they will drive down the road.  All repairable vehicles are sold AS IS, WHERE IS with all faults If, upon personal inspection, you are not satisfied with the advertised item, we require you to cover a $200 fee that covers our internal expenses related to re-listing the vehicle and additional eBay fees.  If you find a major repair missing from the vehicles description that would cost $1000+ to repair we will gladly waive this fee.  Basically if we miss something BIG there is no obligation to purchase.

About The Warranty

This Power train warranty comes at no charge and covers the power train for 90 days or 4000 miles.  All warranty work must be performed at our dealership in Brighton, MI.  For out of State customers should something major occur we are more than happy to ship parts do you but we do not cover labor charges that our not our own.

About The Title

This vehicle has been inspected by a licensed Michigan State police officer and issued a rebuilt salvage title that can be registered and plated.  Michigan rebuilt salvage titles are processed just like a clear title in most states.  It can usually be transferred and plated to any buyer in any state or country with no further inspections.  Please check your local state regulations for confirmation.

Buyers enjoy huge savings on rebuilt and salvage titled vehicles.  If you plan on driving this vehicle a long time, not immediately reselling it, you will certainly save many thousand of dollars over a clear title vehicle.  Please remember you drive the vehicle NOT THE TITLE.  I recently heard a Car-Fax commercial stating the amount of salvage vehicle on the road has doubled.  I guess more folks are choosing to enjoy the savings available!

Drivability Details

This vehicle has been test driven and is found to be in excellent operating condition.  The wheel alignment is correct, the tires are balanced, the brake pads and rotors have no issues.  There were no noted issues with the transmission or engine.

6 best cars for $5,000

Sat, Aug 11 2018

Looking for a great used car but only have a few thousand bucks to spend? Check out our 6 favorite used vehicles that you can get for around $5,000 or less. 1. 2004-2006 Subaru WRX The Subaru Impreza WRX offers a lot of what you might want in a vehicle. A 2L turbocharged engine gives 227 horsepower and it gets 27 mpg on the highway. 2. 2006-2015 Mazda5 The Mazda5 never got the sales it deserved. It was affordable and more maneuverable than most vehicles, but it never took off. It was based on the Mazda3, and felt like it as well... just a bigger version. If you're lucky, you'll be able to locate one with a manual transmission. 3. 1990-1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata A car that's praised for rewarding the driver. The shifter is sublime, and the controls are light and accurate. The 1.6-liter engine that makes 115 horsepower or a 1.8-liter that makes 128 horsepower are our preferred versions. 4. 2009-2013 Honda Fit Beside being cute, it's supremely practical and great in the city. It manages to be pretty entertaining to drive, and let's not forget it's a hatchback. 5. 1987-2006 Jeep Wrangler Yes, it's possible to get a well-loved Jeep Wrangler with about 100,000 miles on the odometer. In many ways, a Wrangler is perfect for the snowy winters with its unrivaled 4x4 capability. An SUV, convertible and icon, all in one? What more could you ask for? 6. 2002 Chevy Silverado Truck lovers, we have you covered. We love the Chevy Silverado with a 5.3-liter V8 engine and a 4-speed automatic transmission. It makes a great second car, especially if you already have a fuel efficient vehicle around the house. What would you buy for $5,000? The art of WRX-ing in the rain

Tue, Jun 13 2017

There it is again, the quiver of the STi's blue rear spoiler. I noticed it yesterday on the Autobahn north of Frankfurt. Although the speed limit was 120 kilometers per hour, I was cruising in sixth gear around 200 kph when the STi's signature rear appendage began to dance in my rear view mirror. Now I'm redlining fifth gear on the front straight of the legendary Nurburgring's north loop and it's back. Only this time the quivering blade is in a deluge of water coming off the Subaru's 18-inch Dunlops. It's a rooster tail worthy of Miss Budweiser and it's a constant and sobering reminder that I'm lapping the 13-mile long Nordschleife in a freezing and unrelenting rain. I'm driving a 2017 German-spec Subaru WRX STi, not the updated 2018 version that'll get revised front end styling, tweaked suspension tuning, larger Brembo brakes and 19-inch wheels and tires. At 240 kph, close to the 2.5-liter boxer four's 6,700 rpm redline, I shift up to sixth gear and change lanes to avoid the standing water on the left side of the track. It's my third lap. I'm getting over-confident. The all-wheel drive WRX STI is dealing well with the tricky conditions and the Ringmeisters of the past that tamed this track since it was first built in 1929 - Ascari, Fangio, Clark, Caracciola, Nuvolari, Rosemeyer, Chiron, and Ickx - are talking to me inside my head. And they're egging me on. Pushing me to go faster. I'm sticking to wet line and staying off the tall curbing that marks most apexes. Bounce the Subi off a curb and I'm sure to star in the next Nurburgring crash video to hit YouTube. I'm also desperately trying to stay off of the new pavement, which dots the circuit and has a coefficient of friction in the wet similar to snot. Then I make a huge mistake on the entrance to Bergwerk, a tight right hand corner that comes up quickly after a long, fast section and the left hand kink that Nicki Lauda got so wrong in the 1976 Grand Prix. The Nordschleife has 160 corners. Most are blind. Many are off camber. All are lined with walls and Armco barriers. Even the straights are kinked and crowned. And there are two very fast downhill compressions and three jumps that max out a car's suspension travel. There's no runoff room. No margin for error. And remembering the course in this weather in just a few laps is impossible, I don't care how much Gran Turismo you've played.

Why a production Mazda Koeru won't be a Subaru Outback clone

Wed, Dec 9 2015

No automaker has had a hit quite like the Outback Many have entered, few have won. The Subaru Outback is one of those automotive bogeys that competitors seek to imitate but never quite capture. Mazda is poised to change that, its CEO tells Automotive News, with a production version of the Koeru concept. We're torn on whether this attempt will be the one to do it, whether the proposed model is truly aimed at the Outback, or whether it's just another pale imitation destined for failure. While the ingredients are pretty basic – wagon-like shape, extra cladding, a smidge more ground clearance than a regular car – no automaker has had a hit quite like the Outback. Reasons include packaging issues, poor brand fit, and Subaru's seemingly unstoppable momentum in building all-wheel-drive archetypes. That hasn't stopped a bunch of companies from trying. And now for a list: Ford attempted with the Freestyle/Taurus X; note that that model no longer exists, having been replaced de facto by the Flex and the newly crossover-ified Explorer. Audi discontinued the A4 Avant and slapped the Allroad badge and some fender flares on to capture the affluent outdoorsy crowd, initially selling well but now down 40 percent since last year. The humpback Honda (Accord) Crosstour and Toyota Venza could also be considered Outback-apers, as both short-lived models took sedan bodies and added a hatch and optional all-wheel drive. Dodge got into this space a few years back with the Journey Crossroad trim level, but fake brush guards and black wheels do not an Outback make. Volvo has perhaps come closest with the XC70, a not-quite-crossover that it nevertheless brands like its other crossovers. It helps that the Volvo die-hard and the repeat Subaru buyer aren't too different. Most of these models no longer exist, and the ones that do haven't sold as well as Subaru's Outback so far this year. Even if you're generous and add all 96,718 Journey sales (and not just those for the Crossroad, which FCA doesn't break out separately) to V70/XC70, Venza, and Crosstour, it still doesn't equal the 136,227 Outbacks Subaru pushed through November of 2015. And, as Automotive News points out, Mazda hasn't sold that many crossovers so far this year (the number is 129,932 thanks to huge CX-5 numbers). So why is Mazda considering going after the hallowed Outback? First off, we're not sure that it is because there's the question of what tiny niche this vehicle would occupy. "It's a totally new car.
