Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti Sedan 4-door on 2040-cars
De Mossville, Kentucky, United States
I am selling my 2007 Subaru WRX STi. I am the only and original owner. Clear title in my possession. No accidents or damage. I purchased it brand new off the showroom floor in 2007 and have meticulously cared for it every day since. It has always been garaged. Non smoker, no kids and no dogs. I am almost 40 years old, so this is not a beat up highschool/college kid car like most STi's you will find out there. I have respected and taken care of this car for 8 years and it has rewarded me as being the best car I have and probably will ever own. It has no hidden issues or problems, runs extremely strong, is very fast and very fun and has been extremely reliable for me. Only two issues ever came up; a leaking rear cv boot, and later a stiff first gear sychro. Both were promptly resolved under warranty with a new rear axle shaft and a new first gear assembly. No other issues in 8 years of ownership. There are a few scratches/tiny dings as shown in the pictures, as well as roadwear/nicks on most of the front bumper and lower area of the hood as pictured. The car did not see much winter driving as I have had an SUV for winter duty, which is reflected in the low mileage for the model year. I am including the original set of winter wheels and tires I purchased after I bought the car. They also reflect the low winter use, and are not even at the wear bar indicators yet. I am also including several other original/extra parts. If you have never driven one of these cars, expect to be impressed. Their bite is much stronger than their bark. This a driver's car - fast, firm and responsive. This car is ready to go and is in immaculate condition compared to other STi's you will find with comparable miles. It performs beautifully, is very fast for being so close to stock, and is extremely rewarding to drive in all conditions. You will not be disappointed. Maintenance/parts list in approximate chronological order: -Followed factory break in procedure. -I had Subaru perform all service until around 10,000 miles. -All oil changes since then have been full synthetic Amsoil. -Cobb Tuning stage 1 Accessport tune to comply with factory warranty. -Cobb Tuning Double Adjustable Billet short shifter. -Borla XR-1 3" Stainless Catback Exhaust (a rare find nowadays - quiet at idle after warmup, very deep rumble after that, yet no highway drone). -Supension mildly tightened to reduce body roll and nose dive: Racecomp Engineering Yellows, Cobb Tuning Sway Bars with Billet Links, Rear aluminum Strut Brace. -Full service at 50,000 miles: all fluids and oils replaced, new dba4000 brake rotors, Stoptech pads, Goodridge Stainless Steel brake lines (all much better than stock). -Cobb Tuning Downpipe and SF Intake and Heat Shield, with matching stage 2 Accessport tune. According to Cobb this setup provides about 350hp/390tq at the crank. -OEM specific Bridgstone RE07R tires replaced last year. These tires were so good that I opted for them again. -Total of over $4000 invested in extras and upgrades. The winning bidder/offer will have to pick up the car within 10 days. I will not ship but I am willing to pick up buyer at nearby airports (SDF, CVG, LEX). $500 Paypal deposit required within 24 hours. Remainder of balance must be cash or certified check from major bank/credit union. Payment will have to clear before car or title is taken delivery of. Car is sold as-is, no warranty. If you arrive to pick up the car and find it not to your satisfaction, I will provide a refund of your deposit minus $200 for ebay fees. Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Junkyard Gem: 2003 Subaru Legacy Outback H6-3.0
Tue, Apr 10 2018Living in Denver and spending a great deal of time in local wrecking yards, I see plenty of discarded Subarus. It's an unwritten law that every Denver resident must own a dog and a Subaru, which means you'll find dog water bowls in front of most businesses and Subarus in most parking spaces. When Outbacks wear out, they end up in local junkyards. With 2 million Outbacks sold, I don't photograph most of them, for the same reason I don't photograph Altimas or F-150s. But a rare H6-3.0 Outback is another story; here's a very clean '03 spotted in a Mile High self-service yard. The six-cylinder Outback debuted for the 2001 model year, and it wasn't cheap. For 2003, the list price on an H6-3.0 wagon started at $26,995 (about $37,000 in 2018 dollars), versus $23,770 for the four-cylinder version with five-speed manual tranmsission. You couldn't get a three-pedal version of the H6-3.0, but fewer and fewer Outback shoppers wanted manual transmissions by that time, anyway. With 212 horsepower, these cars were gratifyingly quick compared to the four-cylinder versions. I own a 2004 Outback with the 2.5-liter H4 and 5-speed manual, and it requires a great deal of patience on freeway onramps and steep grades. Subaru was very proud of the H6 engine at this time, so this car is covered with badges boasting of the six pistons lying sideways under the hood. There's one on the grille, one on the hatch, one on the center console, and a couple under the hood. This car was so clean that I considered buying the seats for my own somewhat battered '04. The original paperwork and manuals were still inside, showing that the original purchaser didn't go too crazy with the options. The car was sold just a few miles from its final resting place. The digital odometer made it impossible for me to determine total mileage, but I'm guessing this is a well-cared-for high-mile car that got traded in on a new Outback, then wasn't worth selling as a used car due to some expensive mechanical problem. 2019 Subaru Ascent Drivers' Notes Review | Subaru redux
Tue, Aug 7 2018The 2019 Subaru Ascent is the follow-up to the odd and slow-selling Subaru Tribeca. From 2005 to 2014, Subaru sold just 76,774 Tribecas in the U.S. at a time when the company's sales as a whole were on a climb. As we put it in our first drive review, the Ascent can be considered a sort of mulligan. The new model comes out hot and heavy against strong three row competitors like the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-9 and American offerings like the Chevy Traverse and the Ford Explorer. Our tester is the top-shelf Touring trim. Standard features on the Ascent include Subaru's EyeSight driver assist technology, adaptive cruise control with lane keep assist, keyless entry, three-zone climate control and a turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four mated to a CVT. Power, like nearly every Subaru, is sent to all-four wheels. For $45,670, the Ascent Touring nets you features like leather trim, power-adjustable front seating, a panoramic moonroof, LED lighting, a power opening rear gate and an upgraded audio system with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: I found myself liking the Subaru Ascent much more than I expected. The turbo four and light steering made it surprisingly engaging to drive. I enjoyed how this one was trimmed out, and the cabin managed to be both woodsy and elegant. It also offered an excellent view of my surroundings, which is not a given for a beefy SUV. Style-wise, I don't love it. I think it looks better in pictures than in person. It seemed a little overwrought in my driveway. If you need a people hauler, and specifically, you need three rows, this one is worth a look. If you don't need three rows, I'd go with an Outback or Forester. That being said, this is the vehicle Subaru absolutely needs in order to have a more complete presence in the U.S. market. It's highly competitive with the VW Atlas, and it should add some solid incremental sales to Subaru's volume. Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: I've logged more time in the Subaru Ascent than any other staffer here at Autoblog, having attending the automaker's initial drive event a few months ago and then signing a different one out to schlep my family on a couple of long drives in and around Seattle, Wash. Sometimes it takes a good, long drive to really figure out a car's merits and demerits. Other times, though, initial impressions are confirmed.
