I took the car in for an oil change and rear brake pads for my `96 Nissan Maxima. He inspected the car and told me that he should replace the rotors, the struts, front and rear brake pads, repair a minor leak, and change dirty brake fluid. In the end, I decided not to make these repairs and just do the oil change. Less than one minute after I left the shop, the brake warning light came on. I went back to ask the ... view moretechnician right away and he said that it was because the brake pads were thin. I later checked the manual which indicated that the warning was due to the brake fluid being low and indeed it was. Once I filled the brake fluid as indicated in the manual, the warning went away. The technician should have known this.
