My son`s car broke down on the way home to NH the day after Christmas. They sent out AAA tow truck. Towed back to station (less than 5 miles). They told us the first 3 miles were free and $3.50 for extra miles. We had to pay $7.50. They told us they could tow it back to NH for $1175 (about 300 miles). They checked with U-Haul for a truck & car dolly and said it would be more than towing,
When we got home, checked... view more with AAA and the towing back to their station, no matter how far, is no charge. Also towing anywhere else is only $3.00 per mile after 5 miles. U-Haul said rental one way for truck and car dolly would be about $350.
