I went to albins Honda under local advisement. They had a good rep with some friends. I asked the salesman to help me pick my first motorcycle. Told him I was totally green. I guess I figured that being an inherently dangerous vehicle they wouldn?ˆ™t steer a new b the wrong way.. Figured I couldn?ˆ™t buy my second bike from them if I was dead so they would likely set me in the right direction?ˆ¦ I ended up being wrong.... view more I tailored the bike home and put it in the garage. The next day I noticed it had a small puddle of oil under it.. figured maybe it leaked out of a breather tube or something when unloading the bike from the trailer. It ended up being a major leak from behind the slave cylinder that when at road speeds spews oil. Unfortunately I didn?ˆ™t have my endorsement when I purchased the bike so I didn?ˆ™t know until later. Then. My friend stopped over to check out the bike and told me the tires were 100% not safe to ride due to weather checking. BUT WAIT THERES MORE!!!! After having the tires changed. And getting my endorsement. I took her out for the first time. After a few rounds of the block it started to stall out. Figuring it must be old gas I cleared the fuel tank and put freash premium in it. Tried it again. Same thing but worse.. I ended up pushing the bike home 2 miles. Because it died and wouldn?ˆ™t restart?ˆ¦. I realize that it was an older bike. But with good reviews from local riders and a couple friends. I figured I was in good hands. And took them at their word. Not to mention you don?ˆ™t get return customers out of corpses?ˆ¦. I guess if you have $8k for a beginners bike you could trust them.. only if your on a budget and have to start out on a $1k bike do you have to worry. The salesman told me the bike had been serviced and everything was safe and in good riding condition. The bike blue booked at $1000 in perfect condition. I paid $995 +tax +$150 in new tires+$300 +in mechanical repairs.. I guess since I found these issues without dying it?ˆ™s a cheap learning experience. But I will never buy a bike from them again. I won?ˆ™t even buy oil from them if the next nearest dealer was 500 miles away. James. T
