Ripped off by Velasquez and Sons

*Took car in 9/2/09 to Velasquez and Sons 217 Sixth St in Dekalb. Check Engine Light was on and car Shaking *Was told it was an Ignition Coil and would be $190 to fix. * 9/3/09 at 9am. Car shaking, check engine light back on. Pedro at Velasquez and Sons told me to go to Autozone and get a diagnostic, because he cant figure out what`s wrong. All of this should have been done prior to charging me $200.00. I re... view morequest a refund and am denied. Upon finding another mechanic, figured out that the part he replaced was not working, he hadn`t even tested it, just told me that the car was fixed. Now he believed that there were several other problems that I should let him fix. I didn`t trust him and took my car to Tires Plus who identified that the part wasn`t working. Still Velasquez denied me a refund, even with the printout of their poor workmanship. I have a claim with the Better Business Bureau now We as consumers have no form of recourse when Auto Repair Mechanics take our money without fixing our cars. Maybe because I`m a woman who doesn`t know much about cars I seem an easy target. People should be aware that a company with these bad practices are preying on Dekalb area residents
