So I posted an add on Craigslist. Greg the salesman responds to it and states he sells cars on consignment and will let my put my Ranger on his lot for $300 a month. Which, that is ok, Get the truck sold is all I was really concerned with. He has two selling points. One, 77,000 cars pass his buisness everyday and two, he can provide financing. Which sounds great for a quick sale.
Now Kelly blue book on the truck ... view moreis $9500. I show up to talk with Greg and he pulls up a list of what Rangers are selling for (which he doesn`t let you look at) and says they are $5000 to $6000 range. Which is correct, for bottom end 2WD high millage Rangers. Not 4WD XLT with 4.0`s in them. I tell him KBB is stating $9500, his response was KBB doesn`t mean anything. I 2nd guess myself and trust him. Half way. I agree to sell the Ranger for $1000 less than KBB at $8500. And Pay $300 for the lot space.. I had two separate friends call and this guy is trying to sell the Ranger for $10,900!!! That`s 2X what he tried to talk me into selling it at. The reason why, he asks what the lowest you will sell it for. Then writes it into the contract as that is what you will recieve upon sale. He keeps everything else. However, when the Truck doesn`t sell, he wants another $300 for the next month.. He is more than willing to ask what ever he wants while you loose money monthly...

Now I was not against the $300 month fee, I was not against letting him make a little change on top of what I really wanted for the truck. I AM against overpricing the vehicle so I get stuck with monthly fees while he tries to make a landslide on a sale while I loose money monthly... FU Greg FU!
