Great prices, dishonest

I went here for minor repairs and service (brakes, tune-ups, etc) and was always happy. They seemed on the up-and-up and I never went broke! But then I brought my wife`s low milage, well cared for Toyota in for rough running and a strange noise. The diagnosis: I had a broken rod and needed a new engine, which they could provide for $2200 (not including labor). I was suspicious, and brought it to a shop my father reco... view moremended. Their diagnosis? The car had some gunky build-up, and I should change the oil with a good synthetic brand and fill it up with 91 octane (no additives). The car runs great with no work done, and this place has lost my trust. The sad thing is when I had minor work done, they would insist I watch them do the diagnosis and look-overs so I knew they weren`t being dishonest. I don`t know what happened.
