Harris Radiator Works and Air Conditioning

George & Viola Harris started Harris Radiator in 1947. The original small "shed" was behind Grice, Lund and Tarkington on D street in Encinitas. George moved Harris Radiator to 215 Melrose in the 50`s. He operated an old-fashioned radiator repair business that included drinking coffee and telling tales to the locals. On February 1st, 1978, George Harris sold the business to David and Kristin Peters. David was a Mercedes and Porsche technician at Del Mar German Car Service for several years and currently has over 40 years of mechanical knowledge and expertise. He brought with him a new outlook with his general automotive background. David`s reputation for honesty and integrity has brought many repeat customers over the years. Air-Conditioning as well as the complete coolong system became a specialty. The business continued to grow. In need of more space, the shop moved to its current location at 274 N. Coast Hwy 101 in 1990. Harris Radiator Works and Air Conditioning also does light general auto repair.
