I had Barrys check my transmission...they said it needed a complete rebuild for $2,500.00. I thought it was out of line because it did not appear to be anything major. I got a second opinion at another shop and they fixed it same day for $600.00 with a 3 month warranty. Vehicle has been running great with no issues! Do NOT TRUST BARRY`s TRANSMISSION. They are a scam!

first visit repair tranny and ...

first visit repair tranny and clutch. Clutch has chatter. Second visit they replace clutch saying first is defective. i still have chatter and this persistent smell i assume is garage grease burning off. one day see smoke coming out of engine. after investigating i see oil it dripping on the exhaust. I checked the oil dipstick NO OIL! third visit they replace the rear main seal which they neglected to do the s... view moreecond time around. seal fixed and still have presistent smell. after investigating again i find i have a torn CV boot. funny thing is i had it inspected before bringing it back to barrys with no issues. I suppose if you want to go back time and time again as opposed to it being fixed right the first time then go to barrys and risk more things going wrong with your car then go to barry`s. i regret taking my car there and not going with my usual place.

I was pleasantly surprized by the reasonable cost, professionalism, communication and freindliness of this business. I had the transmission in my 2001 caravan rebuilt. It took 2 days between dropping it off and picking it up. They called me several times with estimate and detailed explanations. Total cost was about 500 less than the lowest estimate I got elsewhere. There were also a lot of very reasonably priced used vehicles there which I thought of buying if the estimate was too high, luckily, it wasn`t.
