Don`t go there
Had my vehicle for 5 months and still didn`t fix it after he told me it was. Missed the fact the Fast Idle Thermo Valve was stuck open causing my problems. Your better off using the internet and fixing it yourself like I did. 750 dollar lesson. Terry is a friend but won`t be going back there any more.

The Mystery of the Self-Healing Compressor
Over the summer, I noticed that my van`s a/c wasn`t quite doing the job. One day, it just stopped working. On a recommendation from a friend, I took the van to Woodall`s. I told Terry that the a/c, before it outright died, had been blowing ""kinda cold"" air, but the fans worked well. I suspected a compressor issue. It took them over a day to diagnose the problem. It was the compressor clutch, and the comp... view moreressor, they claimed, was ""absolutely fine"" no problems with it at all. (I made a point to ask about the compressor as often when there is problems with the compressor clutch, the compressor is not far behind.). Nope, was reassured all was well and fine with the compressor. The repair cost was $530. Not too unreasonable. So, I pick up the van on Friday and in their parking lot start it up. The air is more warm than cool. Odd, but gave them benefit of the doubt as it had been in the 100`s. Drove a little bit on Saturday and Monday and noticed the a/c still wasn`t quite right. Went to run errands on Tuesday and the a/c was getting worse. I decided to return it to Woodall`s (in fact, the a/c died enroute). I tell Terry what happened and how the a/c, in my opinion, was never fixed. Later that day I get a call. Well, it seems that the compressor was now completely fried, as was the new compressor clutch they just put in. But, they`d work with us on the price (rolleyes) - $1100.00 - about market price for this repair. Of course, we go rounds about how the compressor was `suddenly` fried, how the a/c was not quite right, etc. But we were told that the only the compressor coil in the first clutch was damaged and the compressor otherwise checked out last time, etc. Ok, if this happened a month later that would be bad luck. A couple of days later and the a/c was not `quite right` even leaving the parking lot after the first repair. Ummm... Pull the other finger. We take the van to `Buddy`s Under the Hood` for a second opinion. We dropped it off at 8 am and by 10 he called with his assessment - the a/c had a bad relay (a $75-ish part) and the compressor clutch (which was just replaced days ago) was bad. Probably a defective part. Buddy suggested we take the van back to Woodall`s and give them an opportunity to straighten it out. (Buddy did not charge for the diagnostics, BTW.) Hubby calls Woodall`s and talks to Terry. Terry agreed to replace the compressor clutch and replace the relay. We would pay for the relay part. We drop off the van again and they turn it around that day. When we go to pick up the van, we`re told THEN that the work isn`t under warranty (we have no choice but to agree, pay and sign otherwise we don`t get the van back). Pay the $80 for the relay part and start the van. By some miracle, the `fried` compressor healed itself and the a/c was immediately blowing cold air. (sarcasm) The downside is if this compressor clutch also self-destructs, we are SOL as we had to agree to to `no warranty` when we got the van. (Actually, that`s an agreement made under duress, as if we didn`t agree, our van was collateral - which is not only shady, but is unenforceable AND makes the readers of this review go WTF.

An Honest Mechanic!
The family that runs Woodall Automotive is nothing short of fantastic! They are honest, fair and fast! When my car broke down a month after moving here from Michigan, I was nervous about finding a good mechanic. Thank goodness I called Woodall. They had a tow truck come pick up the car that morning (a Monday) and called me with the diagnosis that afternoon. When the car was fixed on Wednesday Debbie and her daughter-... view morein-law picked me up from my apartment so that I wouldn`t have to take a taxi in to the shop. Talk about going above and beyond! And that was only the first time I used their services. I`ve since taken my car in there twice, and the same service every time! They always get my car in immediately, get me a diagnosis right up front, charge me a fair price and go the extra mile with everything. They are a family owned and operated business that I will recommend to anyone who`ll listen. They won`t let you down! (I will note here that this website seems to have a wrong phone number posted for them. The phone number that I use when I call them is (512) 551-0887. I`m not sure if maybe they have two separate phone numbers or if this website is just wrong, but wanted to mention it.)
