We were preparing for a trip to visit folks in Canada so, wanting the car (2005 Cadillac - 44,400 miles) in good shape, the fluids and brakes were to be inspected and serviced as required. During inspection it was determined that the rear shocks should be replaced and OOPS! the steering rack was deemed bad and so was replaced. $2,100+ later we were on our way and lost the power steering near Wichita, KS. The deale... view morer that repaired the car said that the connection in the steering gear (rack and pinion) was cross threaded causing unrepairable damage. We returned the damaged part to Paul Goocher (Hutto Manager) who inspected the rack and said that the connection was damaged and assured us that therre would be compensation. About a week later he said that he needed to return the part to the manufacturer (A1 Cardone) for inspection. Some time later he said it would take 30 to 90 days for inspecting. After several phone calls and a subsequent visit to Hutto there was no word on reimbursement. After waiting 90 days (several visits in between) I went to the Cardone website and found that they have a 3 to 5 day turn around on repair and replacement parts! I also found a ProTech bulletin stating that ""Damaged thread/housing due to improper installation will VOID THE WARRANTY. Coul this be a reason for the 90 day delay? The part was returned to Paul on August 4. Today is December 6 and still no word. The lesson? BEWARE, especially if you`re if you are a polite, patient senior citizen!

My turbo went out on my Ford diesel and Ford wanted my first born for payment. I read the reviews for this place and inquired about them installing a turbo I bought for the truck. They were more than happy to help me out. I am back to blowing black smoke and taking people at the line. Nice waiting room too!

All I can say is I LUV THIS PLACE! Paul is the first person you see and you know what they say about first impressions,,,he is very friendly and will always take the time to chat with you and explain anything you dont understand. He saved me almost 700.00! Firestone told me I had a bearing out and wanted to charge me almost 800.00 so I took it to Paul and all that was wrong was the axle nut had come loose! Paul and his staff where exceptional... excellent customer service, knowledgeable repair technicians, and an excellent repair facility. Got me right in, inspected my vehicle and found I didn`t need brake repair and showed me why. I appreciate honest service, a rarity these days. First time customer who will come back time and time again! Paul was so friendly and helpful; took the time to give me prices over the phone. DID NOT nickle and dime me....actually said I didn`t need a couple things another shop recommended!! And not only that but he saved me over $800 dollars in the process. With all the glaring review, I was not happy with the way they nickle and dime you. I wanted my brakes bled, period and thats all I wanted. They come back and tells me that a bolt needed to be replace and they took the bolt out. It cost an extra $30.00 to replace it. This people should not be removing parts from my car unless the customer can see the real problem. Then they use the good old scary tactics and the usus... view moreal sales pressure. I was referred to Break Specialist Plus (Hutto) because of good customer reviews. I do not recommend them at all.
The real sad part is that I have another car that needed a part. I told them to order it and install it for me. I found out that their part was more expensive than the dealer and their labor cost was more expensive. I called and cancel my order because a specialized shop for my car will do it much less. They gave me a hard time cancelling my order. Brake Specialist Plus is a very bad repair experience. 12/28/2010

The team at Brake Specialists are experts! My daughter gave me the multi-special coupons as a gift a couple of years ago which introduced me to Total Car Care. It was a great gift that saved me a lot of money and introduced me to a knowledgeable, kind and caring service team. I drive around the metroplex with complete confidence that my car is in excellent repair. My AC was on the fritz and appeared to be a big expense this last summer. The guys worked tirelessly to find a small leak - then charged me very little. Just recently my car was in for a 90k service. Afterward, it was purring like a kitten. I believed I needed brakes and tires here at Christmastime, but Paul assured me that I have many more miles to go. WooHoo!

I CAME TO BRAKE SPECIALISTS FROM A SALESMAN AT ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP! I WAS SHOCKED THAT HE TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO BRAKE SPECIALISTS TO GET A SECOND OPINION.WELL I DID AND WOW WAS I SO GLAD I TOOK HIS ADVISE. I took my Nissan Titan in to the Hutto Brake Specialists to get my six inch lift kit installed. They got the kit installed and the vehicle aligned in about four hours. The truck looks awesome now. Thanks for installing my lift kit and I will definitely send my friends to your shop.
