I have lived in Tyler 14 years and have had my inspections done at Rusty`s every year. I appreciate his `down to business` attitude. While his answer`s are short and to the point (which can be offputting) I know that I can trust what he says. Unless something unforeseen happens I will continue to use Rusty`s for inspsections AND repairs.

I saw previous reviews which commented on customer service etc. I like Rusty`s because you`re in and out, see what you get and get what you see. I don`t need fluff for car inspections. I need to get the job done, and that`s what Rusty`s does. Owner has a perfect right to have rules such as no checks or credit cards. I return every year and never have had a problem. Absolutely horrible... one star is too generous, but you can`t post zero or negative stars on the review. I have been several times over the years and have come to realize the experience is always the same. If it is so distasteful offputting and loathe for him to do vehicle inspections, why is his business CALLED 10 minute Inspections? Unprofessional and no customer service skills whatsoever. I lugged my newborn baby and 2 year old up to the desk and read the sign saying they will not take debit or credit cards for an inspection. I did not realize this when I drove up, otherwise I would not have gone in because I did not have any cash. I waited patiently for my turn and simply asked if they would make an exception. I was met with a curt "no." I understand that they probably make no money... view more on these inspections if people pay with a credit/debit card, but I was hoping they would take pity and make an exception for a young mother with 2 very little children. They should put something on their road sign about not taking debit/credit cards so as to save people like me time getting 2 young children out of their car seats and then right back in again only to have to go elsewhere to get the inspection because they will lose a few cents in credit card fees. I will never go there again and will discourage others as well. My advice is to go to Jimmy Browns on 155s. They always have excellent customer service and are quick (about 10 mins) as well.

Ths place is the trashiest place in Tyler. I went for an inspection and asked if I could write a check since he doesn`t accept credit cards. Rusty mumbled something about local address of local band and I told him I didn`t have a local address but my bank is on Broadway. He began yelling at me about how that wouldn`t work! I said that I would have to go somewhere else and asked for my insurance card back. He threw th... view moree card at me and started yelling about how I needed to leave immediately. I sarcastically said "Well somebody isn`t very friendly" and walked out the door. As I was walking to my car, Rusty continued to yell and began cursing. Even though going to an ATM and getting cash then going back to Rusty`s would have been much quicker, I drove across town and waited at a Kwik Lube for an hour just because I refused to gift Rusty my business. I have never been so disappointed in my life.
