Since the beginning of the year I have spent over $1,500 in repair costs at Mercer Auto, all of which I feel I have been scammed on at this point. My car was not driving well, I typically have another do work on my car; however, he had emergency surgery and was unable to do any auto work until he was heeled, so I went to Mercer Auto. I was informed by Michael that my motor mounts were the reason my car was driving po... view moreorly. It was also suggested that I get my transmission serviced. My regular mechanic had changed my front CV joints before his surgery, and the sound I was hearing was similar the the sound the bad CV joints were making. Michael informed me that the product my mechanic bought for my CV joints were ""sub par"" and they suggested getting a better quality on on the driver`s side where the sound was coming from. When I came to pick up my car, they showed me ""little metal shards"" that were in my transmission fluid that they changed and said I would likely need a new one in the next year or so. I got my car back from Mercer Auto on Saturday and did not attempt to drive it until Monday, at which time it would not start. I called Mercer Auto and they said they would have someone call me back, no one ever did. My regular mechanic sent someone over and tested my battery, which was bad, but Mercer Auto should have taken care of this service. Weeks later my car began to act up again and I went back to my regular mechanic. He said it was my transmission and that when Mercer Auto replaced my motor mounts they scrapped my transmission up, hence the ""little metal shards"" in the fluid when changed. We also found that Mercer Auto never recovered my CV joint when they put the ""better"" one on, as it was left in my trunk with the ""sub par"" brand CV joint left in my trunk. I am shocked by their and continual lies, as they seemed sincere, their poor maintenance work and customer service. I will definitely not be returning to Mercer Auto, even for an oil change and I plan on contacting their General Manager.

My daughter went to this place to look at a car Joe (the owner) was selling. She bought the car from him, got just a matter of a few miles up the road and the car will not go over 20mph and a light comes on. She called Joe and he said he would send a tow truck to get it. While waiting she decided to look under the hood and there was the battery, help up by a piece of wood and some strapping. Joe said he would reimbur... view morese her for the money she gave him for the car and then trys to give her a check. She told him she paid in cash and she wanted the cash back. Joe said to her that she either takes the check or gets nothing. Joe said he could not give her the cash because he had already deposited it. Joe showerd her the deposit ticket and it said 12 noon and she was not even there by that time. It was later than that when she even first arrived there. Joe then said their time stamp must be wrong and she would not believe that either so Joe then said he had deposited it in the night deposit to which my daughter replied, You do not get a deposit slip from the night deposit box!~ Joe was mad because my daughter called the police out because he would not give her the cash back so he stopped payment on the check and then when my daughter called him to see why he said to her as he later said to me ""How does it feel to be screwed!"" I told him see ya in court then!~ My daughter is a 21 year old single mother raising her son on her own without ANY help from the dad and she needs a car to be able to work and support her son and for when she starts nursing school. Joe of Mercer Automotive screwed her over!~ THAT IS SAD!~ Guess it makes him feel like a big man to bully around and mess over young girls. They tricked me into paying for the authorized repairs by saying that they were bringing the vehicle around but never did. After having assured me that there was nothing else wrong with the vehicle these guys came back and told me that in addition to the repairs that I had authorized and paid for, my car needed a new computer for another $1,000 some odd dollars. After I refused to authorize any additional repairs th... view moreey decided to keep the vehicle. These guys have had my vehicle for a month. The vehicle is no where to be found on the premises. After calling the police I still did not leave with my vehicle. I am having to pay for a rental car and an attorney. Save yourself the expense and frustration - don`t go to Mercer. I have taken my cars to many places before including dealerships. Needless to say say I am much happier with my neighbourhood mechanic. Mercer has done everything from changing a headlight to rebuilding a Transmission for me. He has even provided me with free loaner. The owner Joe is down to earth easy to talk to and will give you the facts. No idea why others are giving them a bad rap on this sight. He will fix yo... view moreur car right the first time, if not bring it back to him and he will what it takes to make it right. As far as price goes... Much less than the dealership and will use quality namebrand parts on your car. They are open 7 days a week and work very quickly. I have told several neighbours of mine to use and they have and they are all satisfied.

Biggest scammers I`ve ever seen. I wish I could give them a rating of zero stars, but oh well. Royally screwed over my friend. Took their car there for work and was never given an estimate or an itemized work order. They ended up charging them way more than they should have and even till the end refused to give them even a copy of the work order. I`m filing a BBB complaint, if that`s even possible.

My friend went to this place when he was assured about free brake check up. Guy started twisting words once he opened the wheels and gave price quote. He even offered free lunches and claimed he was the best in his quote. It was really a desperate place wanting to charge at least double the basic brake service. Highly recommend DO NOT GO unless you want to flush down some hard cash for inferior work.
