Nicest people in the business!!
I was referred to Star by my neighbor who has been a customer of theirs for a while now. Anyhow, my car had this annoying noise in the front when I was turning into a parking space or my driveway. I have been to 4 other shops; had new tires put on, new wheel bearings, a new tie rod, and a new steering pump. After all that and about $2000, I still had a noise. But, I figured what the heck, I`ll give them a call. I went in for my appointment, and the mechanic went for a test drive with me. He figured out the problem almost right away, it was my struts making noise. They fixed the car that day, and even washed it and vacuumed it for me! The price was reasonable, and the service was quick. I am a very happy camper now, no more noise!!

I am a current Star Motor Serv...
I am a current Star Motor Service customer, and am very pleased with their service. Recently, a friend of mine from NY came down to visit me, and while in town, her A/C suddnely stopped working. It has been in the upper 90`s and even topped 100 degrees here over the past two weeks, so not having A/C is an issue. They were happy to help, and had her bring it right in. It needed a part that had to be ordered, so she needed a ride back to the hotel she was staying at in Summerville. Donna from Star not only took her back to the hotel on her way home, but had her car washed, vacuumed and all shined up after the repairs were complete. My friend said it was the best auto repair experience she had ever encountered, plus, Star gave me a VERY generous referral bonus for sending them a new customer! THANKS STAR MOTORS!

For 4k, they didn`t fix the problem and further broke my car
I have thought very hard about writing a review, about taking them to small claims court, and the better business bureau. Today, it was hot in Charleston again and my AC did not work, my brakes were squeeking very loudly, and my mufler was squeeking and moving up and down going down the road. The three things I paid Star Motors to fix for nearly 4,000: a new muffler, new brakes, and AC/heater. I took the car somewher... view moree else and they found it comical how Star Motors assembled the muffler (it was hanging on a coat hanger and rocking back and forth). 2000+ went to the AC that worked for 2 days. I took the car back to them eight times (8 times!!! for them to try to fix the issue), and each time they made me feel like I was inconveniencing them for saying that they did not fix the AC, squeaking car, or brakes (they said the brake squeaking would go away, it has only gotten worse)... what is worse, when they assembled my dashboard back together the last time the side of the dashboard broke and the side panel fell off on the way back (they broke the clips!). I took the car to another Mercedes repair shop and they said that Star Motors ought to fix this. The owner of Star Motors refuses responsibility, to refund the money, and has made me feel like I have troubled him. I paid 4,000 for a worse car. PLEASE, do not go here. Not only were they rude, but the broke my car for 4,000.

Excellence in every repect
Trust and confidence are the two words I would use to describe Star Motors. I have a 1997 E320, which I take in for anything and everything. One incidental benefit of letting Star do the oil changes is the consistent trouble shooting needed with any car. I have used Star for major body work on my previous car and I have even had the Tire Rack ""drop-ship"" new tires for installation at Star Motors. The owner has even come to my office to jump start the car! This is an easy referral when people ask! I have been going to Star Motors since 1992.

Great Service Over Many Years
We have dealt with Star Motors for many, many years. We have had mechanical, body work, and AC done by these folks. They bend over backwards to take care of you as quickly as possible. My wife had a breakdown at a local grocery store and the owner of Star came and picked her up. Took her home and arranged to take the car to their shop -- above and beyond normal service.

The Best Service I`ve Ever gotten!!
I was referred to Star motor when my late model Mercedes broke down. They diagnosed and fixed my car in 2 days where the dealer I had called said it would be a week. Star also picked me up at home when the car was finished and the price was $745 less then I was quoted at the dealer. I could not believe how kind the entire staff was. Star Motors are not good to women
My daughter took her car there to get fixed and they charged an outrageous price and didn`t fix it. My daughter was told by one of the techs that the price was too high and that they didn`t even fix the problem. I have heard that another one of her friends had the same experience. It is so hard being a woman and trusting someone to take care of your car and then always getting taken advantage of.
