Terrible customer service after the sale.

Ledfords Tire & Auto in Gastonia, NC performed a 4-wheel alignment on my car in June 2009 a couple of days after putting four new struts and tires on the car. The next day after the alignment, I noticed the car pulling to the right and that the steering wheel was usually turned to left when the car was going straight (turned at 11:00 o?ˆ™clock). I checked the air pressure in the tires and all the bolts on the struts. ... view more I found that one of the strut to sway-bar links had a broken grease seal and was not turning easily. I ordered new links which took a couple of weeks and installed them to see if that corrected the steering but it did not help. The car still pulled to the right. I called Ledfords Tire & Auto and was told that they would check it but I would have to pay for another alignment. I explained to him that it took a few weeks for the new parts to arrive but to no avail. He said that they might fix it if I had brought the car back the same day but now all he would do is sell another wheel alignment to me.

This was my first experience with Ledfords Tire & Auto. I had planned to take my van and truck to them for a wheel alignment this month too but now. Perhaps this business has more work than they can handle so customer service is not important to them. I have lived in Gastonia all my life so it makes no sense to lose a customer for life who has four vehicles because of failure to stand behind their work. The wheel alignments at Ledfords Tire & Auto are less expensive than most places but I did not get quality work there. Although they did not give me a warranty with the alignment, I trusted that they were honorable. I am probably too trusting and that sometimes cost me $$. I hope this review prevents others from wasting their money here. If they were a larger company, there would probably be many customer complaints about them. This is my experience and a warning to potential customers.
