Just got my oil changed at Her...

Just got my oil changed at Hershey Auto Center, and once again they proved to me that not all auto mechanics are crooks. I paid for the oil change ($64...more than usual because I choose to use synthetic oil), I walked to my car and was ready to take off....then I saw they left a little Thank You card and a Hershey`s Kisses on my steering column. My car broke down the first da...

My car broke down the first day in the new year. It looks like starter motor problem. After 2 days, Don (the manager/owner) thought it is transmission fly wheel problem and they could not fix it there. So, he recommended I have to take my car to dealership to fix it. After dealership looked at it, it is just starter motor problem. My car is up and running right now like new, thanks to toyota dealer. Don is very friendly guys on the phone, but I would not recommned anybody to go there for the car problem. It is the money trap as other reviewer stated. It makes me wonder about whether he even tried to "actually" fix the car.

Friendly and Professional

It is a shame that most people who write reviews are Negative Nancys. It is just as important to commend businesses for their hard work and professionalism. During the years, I have had my vehicles repaired in many locations throughout many states. Poor customer service...

My husband an I were treated very disrespectful I took my newly purchased vehicle in for a check over an paid for the service they told me everything was great the car needed nothing when i went back a few days later to have the car inspected they charged me for emissions an failed the inspection an told me i needed brakes the car was not driven from the first time they looked over it because it was not inspected. MONEY TRAP!! BUYERS BEWARE!!

My son fell asleep coming home from his 2nd job and was in a wreck (Thank God he is ok). When my husband arrived to asses the situation the police had already called this company to tow (or we would have used HnR).They charged my son $365 to tow him less then 1/4 mile , $195 was for the tow and $125 to dispose of the vehichle. Car fixed right

During a trip to the park my car broke down. Hershey Auto Center Came within 20 min and towed my car back while we went to the park. They fixed it that day and was more than fair with all there rates. I wish every town had an auto repair shop like hershey auto in there town.

our family broke down in august and we stranded....we have 3 children....the guys from hershey auto center came out on 322 and towed our car within 10 minutes, gave our family a ride to and from hershey park and replaced the alternator for less than i was quoted.....these guys are very curtious.....i wish i had a home town garage like them.

One of the Best

My family has been going to Hershey Auto for as long as we`ve lived in the area. He`s by far one of the best mechanics I`ve known. His prices are slightly higher than the competition, but he`s by far the most skilled and knowledgeable mechanic I`ve ever known.

I had a problem with my car a few months back. Donnie had taken in a few car wrecks that week, so he was unable to help me out right away. We decided to... view more take it to a different place since I wanted to get the car fixed as quickly as possible. The car sat in the garage for over a month and a half with no conclusion to what was wrong in sight. The mechanics kept trying and trying to get it fixed without any luck. I finally was so fed up I took it back and brought it to Donnie`s. The next day I get a call saying he`s figured out what was wrong, and asked if I`d like him to fix it. It wasn`t a cheap fix, but he fixed it within a few hours and got it back to me the next day. What took another mechanic a few weeks to try to diagnose, Donnie did in a few hours. He`s by far one of the best mechanics in the Hershey/Harrisburg area.

The best auto repair shop in the Harrisburg area

I have been going to Donnie`s (Hershey Auto Center) for years and have not found a better, more service-oriented repair shop. He always calls to discuss any problems, recommends options and only proceeds when you say proceed. In addtion, he operates the cleanest auto repair shop I`ve ever been in. You could eat off the service bay floors!

He`s kept my 1994 Ranger pickup going far beyond its years. Here`s... view more an example of how he works: two years ago I took it in for inspection and asked him to fix the air conditioning (it had stopped cooling). He called that day and and asked if I really wanted to put the money into fixing it. He said he could recharge the freon, but there was probably a leak, then if I wanted the leak fixed, it could run into several hundred dollars or more. He noted that I only put a few thousand miles a year on it and asked me if I could just put the windows down in the summer. After thinking about it, I agreed. He had just talked himself out of a nice repair bill, but did the right thing by his customer. This is not an isolated incident, but typical of the way he handles his customers in my experience.
