I had an appointment for an oil change at 4:00pm on a Friday. I made the appointment over a week ahead of time. I snuck out of work early and got to Brake team at 3:50pm, went into the office, and the big guy behind the counter looked irritated that i was even there. He didnt ask my name or anything. So i stand at the counter in silence as he`s piddling around on his computer, saying nothing to me. Finally i said ... view morethat i was there for a 4:00 oil change. He said ""okkaaayy, what time do you want to pick it up tomorrow?"". I have never left my car overnight at a shop for an oil change! So i told him that my appointment was 4:00pm and no one mentioned anything to me about leaving it overnight, when i made the appointment. He said ""well, okay, but its going to be difficult to get it done today"". At this point i`m thinking, if they couldn`t honor my scheduled appointment, no problem - but they couldnt call me to reschedule or something? He was treating me like I was invading his whole life, when I had a scheduled appointment. Then i tell him that i dont mind leaving it overnight, but that i have no ride home. He asks if i have someone to pick me up, and i say No. Then, he offers for me to rent one of their rental cars, and PAY $75 for it, just to have it sit at my house until i get my car in the morning!! Because THEY didnt have time to do a simple oil change that i had an appointment for. I have never in my life been asked to leave my car overnight, have someone pick me up, or pay $75 for a rental car to drive me home across the river -- just for an oil change. He finally asks what I want done, even though I already said 3x that i was there for an oil change. So then he sends me on my way and says ""come back at closing time"", which was 6:00pm. So I left to wander around town for 2 hours. I came back and my car was almost finished - still had to wait in the waiting room for 20 minutes. Lesson learned. My regular car place is Honest A-1 on SE Stark. I will continue to remain loyal to them and not make this mistake again. Pete at Honest A-1 gets the work done quickly and on-time. He has even told me that any time I have car troubles, to call him and he will pick me up himself. He has even offered for me to take HIS personal car to work for the day.

If you have nowhere special to be, or do not need your car within hours of the completion time given when bringin your car in, then this is the place for you. I dropped my car off @ 8:00 am AFTER confirming over the phone that they could complete the installation of a drive axle befpre 3:30. I was assured that they could. I received a phone call at 10:11am as a courtesy to let me know that my brake fluid and power... view more steering fluid need to be replaced. I said I would have my normal Mechanic do that. I ONLY want my drive axle fixed (plus an oil change). They said okay and hung up. I then received another call 3 hours later saying that the tool thy needed to replace the axle was not in the shop and that they had to go get it. This tells me that they waited until the last minute to start on my car. The service manager told me that the time frame had changed to completion @ 4:30. I was not happy, but if I had to wait another hour. fine. I was going to be late for my daughter`s evening activity, but I would still make it. 4:30 rolls around, my car is still on the block, no one has even looked in that direction since I arrived an hour before. They had the nerve to tell me I should rent a car and pick it up the next day. I said no. I love 30 miles from the shop, and public transportation does not reach my home. I should not have to pay even more for a rental car becasue the screwed up. I did not leave the shop until 10 after 6. this is almost 3 hours later than the time promised for completion. They offered a free oil change for my next visit. I said they could keep it for the next schmuk. I will not be back, nor will any person underthe sun that I know. If you value your time, take your vehicle elsewhere.

A total rip off! Don`t go here!

I took my car in to the Brake Team because my emergency brake light had been coming on while driving. I was told all of my brakes were dangerously low, and that there was a leak in the hydraulics in the back - they gave me an estimate of $600. I couldn`t afford that, but I paid $350 for the rear end problems and was warned to have the front end done as soon as possible as the br... view moreakes were ""below the safety limit"". I was also told I needed to have my power steering fluid flushed.

I took my car elsewhere a few days later planning to have the front brakes done, and was told they are at 50% and can wait quite a while, and the power steering fluid was fine, all I was due for was an oil change. The Brake Team straight up lied to me about what was needed, and I probably paid for work that didn`t even need to be done. Never, ever going here again!

I went in for an oil change and received great service, Very fast a convienient location where I cold leave my car and walk to do other errands. They took the time to explain what they did and to tell me about some work that needs to be done in the near future. I will be back next time I need an oil change

I`d be safer paragliding at some sketchy place in Mexico.They baited me in there by having a good price and location compared to Scwab, went in for what was estimated to take three hours max (and two hours at most other places), finally got a drivable car five days later. The first time I got the car back after two days, drove home only to have the parts in my rear axle dangerously come loose on the freeway, destroyi... view moreng the original repair and barely functioning brakes by the time I got back to the shop. Wasted hours of time dealing with it, I was offered to refund me the cost of labor, only after asking, I would think they would have offered me free service for life or something so I wouldn`t sue for carelessness or negligence. I was pretty understanding, people are human and make mistakes, but Jason is was a huge clown. It was a massive time and energy waster, plus it was literally dangerous when I took it home the first time. I`ve never even thought about suing anybody before, but if I had kids in the car the first time they gave it back to me, my attorney would be busy. And to top it off, they would not provide for a 4wd rental (which is what my car is) so I got to cancel ski plans and avoid driving because it snowed! Maybe it was an isolated incident, but wow. If you like your car and value your time and life, stick with Scwab or your mechanic. Oh, and two months later, I`ve never received that refund they promised.

I live in Phoenix AZ and my 18 year old daughter lives in Portland. Yesterday she told me when she hit the brakes on her car it sounded like her engine was being dragged on asphalt. Hello! Why was I just now hearing about this?!! Long story short, we knew we had to get her brakes serviced immediately.

I combed through reviews for brake service companies in Portland as it was my only recourse living 1500 m... view moreiles away and I stumbled across Brake Team. They had wonderful reviews so I gave them a shot.

My husband called the store on Everette and spoke a mechanic named Weylin. He explained what was happening with the car and we told him that we were 110% sure she needed new rotors because this metal to metal sound had apparently been going on for almost 3 weeks. We also told him we were in Phoenix and we would be paying for this via our credit card over the phone.

Weylin immediately got our daughter an appointment and called us 30 minutes later with the diagnosis and the total dollar amount this would be costing us.

He said we did NOT need new rotors as he would be able to machine the damaged rotors and repair them. This ended up being a simple brake job and not the expensive nightmare we were expecting.

Keep in mind, Brake Team knew we lived in Arizona and thate we were completely blind on this one. He could have easily told us she needed new rotors and a host of other things, however, they were 100% honest, fair and reliable.

When you find an honest company you stick with them, which we plan on doing from this day forward. We can now rest assured that our 18 year old daughter has an honest and fair mechanic in Portland.

If you need brakes or any other mechanical repair on your car don`t even consider going anywhere else! These guys are fair, honest and are the real deal.

Too bad they don`t have a 10 star option on this website because I would have used it!!!

I had a great experience at you NW Everett location. While I went in with a seemingly small problem it turned out to be a little more of a pain than any of us thought. Dave called around to about a zillion (!) places to find an upper starter bolt that would fit my pick up. He actually found it and got things taken care of the next day! I am a returning customer at brake team..My first visit didnt go well as it should of. The mechanic that worked on my car didnt take the time to explain what was being fixed and charged me additional charges that I didnt expect. My second visit was with Dave(brake team manager) He was very patient in explaining everything to me and his customer service was phenominal..Omar was the mechanic and he did an excellent job... view more fixing my brakes. Clean location. Bathrooms a little small. Friendly personnel. Brake work took longer than originally communicated but work done to satisfaction. I have since recommended service at this location to friends and co-workers. Price seemed a little high but the location was very favorable for working downtown.

I heard about them on the radio... They have a $15 oil change. Helluva deal! This location was convenient and the lobby was clean. The people were nice and the mechanics were in good spirits - always a good sign. Recommended!
