When I dropped off the car they seemed honest and friendly- like most folks in Alva. However, I was charged 87 dollars for a routine oil change. Yes, you read that correctly. I was charged 70 dollars for labor and 17 for the oil. I provided my own oil filter. I`m new in town and I believe that`s why they decided to charge me almost 90 dollars for an oil change. When I asked the proprietor why I was charged 70 dol... view morelars labor, he seemed to know that what he was doing was wrong, and then tried to justify it by saying that that is what they charge per hour. It was almost sad. I had called them a few weeks back and gotten a quote in line with other shops- around 40 dollars. I`m a non-confrontational sort so I didn`t push it. I was ripped off. I will never go back and am telling others of my experience. In conclusion, for those new to Alva, avoid this shop or you`ll be severely overcharged.
