I purchased a 2003 Explorer on November 9th at noon. There was no warranty given on the vehicle. I drove the vehicle home for the evening. The following morning the vehicle stalls on me. It eventually restarts. The fuel indicator is on ?? tank. I pass it off as maybe bad fuel so I refill to full. The fuel gage then fails repeatedly until there is a lower level of fuel ... view morein the fuel tank. This occurs repeatedly over the course of 9 days until I am stranded. I contact Robert at the auto center; I assume Robert is an owner. He never gives his last name. He talks in circles (not surprising to me but was hopeful of getting an honest deal). He has the mechanic shop located next door tow it to the mechanic shop (2 different companies I am told) so they can check and see what is going on. Robert continually says ?ˆ?I?ˆ™m going to take care of you; I want you to say good things about me: I want you to send people to me: I want your business again?ˆ?. He gives me his cell number and says ?ˆ?I give you my cell number; you get me anytime. I call him after I find out from the mechanic the repair is $400; I attempt to contact Robert a number of times with no success. That same day I call the dealership and a guy tells me oh I am covering for Robert this week. This guys says he will call me back in the AM tomorrow. The next morning I have heard nothing so I call Robert again. He says, I can?ˆ™t take care of this; I did not make any money on this vehicle. I will give you a $100. I explain this is not a warranty but a defect in the vehicle upon purchase. Bottom line: this is not a dealership to support you in repeat business. Robert is not expecting to get repeat business clientele. My advice to me and the general public ?ˆ“ shop around and don?ˆ™t make this business a part of your shopping.
