Great service!

Having been referred to Elkins Automotive by several people who raved about the service, I took my car to them Saturday for some work, and again today for some additional work. I was extremely pleased with their courtesy and their patience! I`ve been going to another automotive shop for years and was being being continually disappointed, as well as presented with huge bills. I was so relieved to find a shop th... view moreat did not talk down to me, who took the time to carefully explain what I needed done and how much it would cost, and even going so far as to tell me, "Well, you don`t really need that right now. You can wait a little while on that if you`d rather." I`ve NEVER had a shop tell me that! I appreciated their honesty and their willingness to do only what needed to be done at this time rather than try to get me to do as much as possible. Eric Elkins kept me informed as they worked on my car. And their prices were reasonable, too. I had two people tell me how much they liked the shop, how honest the people were and how long they`d been taking their cars to them, while I was in there and none of the employees were around. I didn`t hear a single bad thing about them. They worked quickly and they provide a comfortable waiting room. I will definitely be taking my car back to them and referring them to others!

Refused to release truck or tell price

Beware of the business practices of ELKIN`S AUTOMOTIVE. We took a truck to Elkin`s Automotive in June of 2008 to have checked out to see why it wouldn`t keep running. Week after week we called for status updates. Eric Elkin`s REFUSED to speak to the actual owner, my daughter. He played this game of I will ONLY talk to your father since he is the one that brought it here. Repeatedly Erik Elkin`s was asked, what is t... view morehe charge for the diagnostics done. His reply was I don`t know. This game went on week after week until September 2008 my husband called him and said "hey, tell me what`s owed on the truck and I`ll just pick it up". Eric snapped back at him and said " I will NOT under no circumstances release this vehicle until I figure out what`s wrong with it. That same day my daughter filed a better business bureau complaint against Elkin`s Automotive @ 10120 Albemarle Rd Ste G Charlotte, NC 28227. Today being October 1st 2008, Mr. Elkins called my husband and demanded a sum of $ 600.00 to be paid by 6pm and the truck picked up or he was charging a $15.00 a day storage charge. My daughter has already given Mr. Elkins $200.00 and doesn`t feel like she owes him anything else. SHE NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING NOR WAS GIVEN ANY ESTIMATE UNTIL TODAY! That is 3 months over due. This service is IMMORAL and UNFAIR BUSINESS practice. When he hung up on my daughter as usual, today October 1st 2008 we called the Charlotte Police Dept. to meet us over at Elkins Automotive and Eric ElkinS was gone. He din NOT answer his home phone or his work phone to resolve this issue. Hanging up on customers and not allowing them to pick up their vehicle, thus charging them more money that was NOT approved is a travisty. I see his web page has a christian quote on it...............THIS IS NOT CHRISTIAN BEHAVIOR!
