Great and Quick Service
Went there recently and received great service and they were quick to fix my car. Will continue to go back. They didn`t try to fix more than what was really wrong with my car which was greatly appreciated.

15-year Customer
I`ve been taking my cars to Jimmy, and now he and his son, Nathan for at least 15 years. They only do the work that is necessary and if something is not necessary, they will tell you. I have seen that they try to keep your costs down as much as they can. I would trust them with any car I own. In fact, I`m taking one of my cars in today for an oil change and look-over. I have no doubt that I will leave again today com... view morepletely satisfied. Not sure what happened to the one bad reviewer but I have full confidence in these folks. My best friend has also been going here for at least 10 years and he has also been satisfied.

White- Wall Auto Repair -Raleigh
Honest and trustworthy! What I suspected was a bad alternator and dead battery turned out to be some loose wiring under the hood. This was more complicated than it sounds. That saved alot of money. They had the correct diagnosis and the car was ready on time.

Great Business
I would HIGHLY recommend this place. I had to chase a coolant leak for months. After replacing a water pump, thermostat and was still having coolant running out and leaking into the drivers side of the car one mechanic finally told me it was the heater core. Said mechanic quoted me $900.00 to repair. They were the same mechanics that said it was the thermostat and charged me to replace it. I took my car to Roger an... view mored had the problem resolved for $600.00. The other day my check engine came on while I was on my way to work. I stopped I found I had no oil. I put oil in the car and took it to the previous mechanic (thermostat people) since it was convenient to work. After putting oil in the car and checking for leaks they came up with a $800.00+ estimate to fix all the ""leaks"" (valve cover casket $115.00, oil pan casket $305.00, and power steering reservoir hoses...never having problems with my power steering.. $390.00 + labor) I had them put oil in the car and took it Roger. The valve cover casket was leaking and had to replaced but since the oil leaks downward the oil pan casket was fine. As for the steering hoses very small problem taken care with a few clamps. The check engine light was off when I picked up the car and drives so much better! I saved over $600.00`s. Although Whitewall is not convenient to North Raleigh and I work in the RTP., I will go out of my way to return to them.

Lying and Misleading
I was referred to this place by a friend, who recently recanted the positive things he had to say about this place. I came in for a simple problem regarding my brakes. I went to see a particular mechanic at this place who shall remain unnamed (starts with an ""R""). A a few minutes in the rode and I notice that my car is making a noise it didn;t make before I took it in. R just said that it needed to be readjusted... view more. Took it back a couple more times to get the problem looked at as well as another noise that my brakes were making and same thing happens: I drive off with the same problems and maxed out credit card. I confronted the store manager about the issue and he seemed piratically indifferent about the matter and tells me to just tell R about the problem. It just so happened that I needed to get a new brake pad that day, so I asked R to put one in for me and if he could please fix the noise that he caused and the other noise that my brakes were still making. I drive off and my car is good for a couple of days, but surprise, the noise returns. Well, at this point I`ve had it with WW and decide to take it to Sears, where it was a one and done visit. They told me exactly why my card kept making the noise and fixed my problem. They also informed me that I had a crushed brake line, which I suspect may have been caused by R.

Why go anywhere else?
I have been a long time customer of White Walls and it makes me cringe to think of taking my vehicles anywhere else. The couple of times that I was unable to take my car in for simple things like inspections, oil changes (due to not being in the area, and having to get it done right then) the other shops tried to rip me off. I took my car in for an oil change elsewhere and they tried to push other "needed&quot... view more; services on me. Of course being a female who knows nothing about cars I almost fell for it. In fact, I would not let that shop do the other "needed" services b/c I didn`t trust that they would do it right. So, I took the car to WW a few days later and told them what needed to be done. They shook their heads after looking over the car, and said that I didn`t acutally need it after all. That wasn`t the first time that they have saved me money. My engine almost got ruined from a bad oil change elsewhere, which of course I got resolved at WW too. Bottom line is, they really know what they are doing, care about their customers, and are not about to make a quick dollar if it means taking advantage of people. I encourage anyone who has had a bad experience elsewhere to take your service to White Wall. They are always honest with their customers, and I really feel that they go the extra mile. The service they offer won`t be found anywhere else. Thanks to White Wall for going easy on the purse.

fast friendly honest
Today - tranny fluid pouring out I roll in there at 4pm on a Friday - by 530 they fixed me up. Try that for service ANYWHERE else! For 10 years I`ve been going here, and they`ve never disappointed me. They learn your name, and treat you like they care. Thanks again, Guys!

They know I`m an idiot yet they treat me like I`m smart!
I have been going to these guys since I moved here in 2004. There have been occasions when most other mechanics and dealerships would have taken me to the cleaners but, the mechanics at White-Wall are honest, dilligent and prudent. I have gotten to know Jimmy (the owner) and Roger (my mechanic). They take the time to explain what is going on with my car, give me pretty accurate quotes, get the job done in a reason... view moreable amount of time and get the job done right. Even for a fluid change or tune up, they do a SUPER job at a great price. They inspect my car as well. If you get your vehicle worked on at White-Wall you will walk out a happy camper. Roger is friendly and is down right caring about my needs and that of my car. You will not get nickeled and dimed and they will certainly not tell you that your car needs something it doesn`t. Over all, I have been very happy with the service I get from White-Wall. It is so hard to find a mechanic you can trust. These guys are trustworthy.

Great people skill, low quality, unwilling to resolve problems
My wife used the shop 5-9 times for small repairs and the state inspections since the owner is very friendly and the shop has convenient location. Last time my wife took the car to the shop for tire balancing. Jimmy called and suggested to perform the brake work. I refused since a bit paranoid on this. Doing the brake work two days after I discovered that all the lug nuts are over tightened beyond specified torque an... view mored FOUR of them had stripped tread. Jummy, when confronted with the problem went into denial and kept repeating that the wheel studs had the treat stripped before he did the job.
This suggested to me three things (1) he has an ability to screw the nut on the bolt with a damaged tread; (2) he used defective bolts and nuts to secure the wheel without the owner consent (3) urge wife to change the shop. Unfortunately, this was not a single incident and I had similar small problems with this shop before with a different car

They used to be stellar, now they`ve fizzled.
I was a customer of WW for years. Up until recently, they provided stellar service. My only peeve was that they never called you with information even when they always said they would.

Now, I will never go back there. I brought the car there for the 100k mile service. We asked them to replace all belts, hoses, plugs and wires, everything that would normally be replaced by now as nothing had been replaced up u... view morentil then. We paid them almost $800 and were sent on our way, at peace knowing we wouldn`t be facing breaking down on the side of the road with a broken belt or anything.

First, there was an oily shop rag left sitting on top of the engine. Someone was very inattentive. Two months later, my timing belt went on I-40. After arguing with the owner that this was supposed to be done 2 months prior, they fixed it. And, admittedly, the owner was saying he would give us a ""really great deal"" on it, basically only charging us for the part (since they didn`t charge us for it before).

When we went to pick up the car with its new timing belt, the owner said something was messed up with the computer in the car, because the engine fans weren`t coming on so the car would shut off upon idling. He said there was nothing else they could do, and sent me on my way to a dealership to have them reflash the computer. He didn`t charge us for any of the work, which, at the time, we thought was really big of him considering the circumstances.

The problem turned out to be that when they replaced the timing belt, they didn`t set the timing correctly, so the dealership had to take the car back apart to fix that. On top of it, when WW was putting my engine back together, they managed to break one of my engine fans, so that needed to be replaced. So, the problem had nothing to do with the car`s computer. It had everything to do with the worker`s incompetence, which cost me $1400. Sadly, they`ve lost a customer and I will never recommend them to anyone again.
