Traveling out of town

While traveling out of town, I developed a thumping in my car. Having recently had work done at another Monro Muffler, I stopped to make sure it was safe to drive an hour home. At the first Monro I stopped at, the employee told me it would be an hour and a half before he could look at it, then wanted all my contact information. I could not wait that long, and went to find another Monro. The service I received at ... view morethis Monro could not have been better. The workers were pleasant and helpful, and although they were busy, looked at my car right away. They explained what I needed to know, and what I should follow up with. I did not have my original receipt, but they looked at the car anyway and did not charge me a thing. I was very impressed with the service, and if I`d needed to have work done, I would have trusted them to do it.

Pushy with extra service, slow. I don`t feel that I received a good value for the services I did purchase, and I also feel that the necessity of certain recommended repairs was overstated. I took my car in for inspection at one point, the (not quite expired) sticker was removed before the car was looked at. I was then told I needed to spend $400 on a wheel bearing for the vehicle to pass inspection. I balked, and the... view more mechanic basically said too bad, either accept the repairs or drive it without an inspection sticker and risk fines.

I would not recommend this company.
