Great prices and service
Two great experiences:

A few years ago I got an oil change there. I`d had my clutch repaired by a competator only a few days before. I left American, drove across the street to the grocery store, and my clutch completely gave out. I called American, and two guys came RUNNING over to the grocery store, pushed my car to pop the clutch and start the car, and drove it back to the shop. They fixed the clutch fo... view morer MUCH cheaper than the other shop and I`ve never had another problem with it.

Recently I was given an estimate from another shop of about $780 for front struts, alignment, and other work on the front end of my car. American did the repair for HALF that price.

They are now the only repair shop I will go to. It`s not a problem at all to make an appointment for an oil change.

happy here
This is the first shop that I have ever been comfortable going to....alone. I know that I`m not going to get swindled just because I`m a woman. These guys have a great collective sense of humor! They always help me fix my clunker.... and for a reasonable price. I think the only reason service is sometimes slow is because they outsorce for parts, which is understandable. I would rather have someone I trust take th... view moreeir time time, than have some idiot rush through it. Like Walmart, who miss threaded an oil filter which in turn threw a rod through the block of my engine. Or to have the entire shop stop midway through for a 20min break because the Ice cream truck arrived... like competitor Monroe. Those are two companies to AVIOD.

And for those of you upset about not being able to sit in your car while the oil is being changed... blame the insurance company. I have no idea what your upset about anyway. I`d rather walk next door and get a cup of coffee.

i still like american carwash
do any of you poeple ever go to monro or kost how about the dealership? have you ever driven your car into one of those shops? the answer is no because it is a repair facility and it is against the regulation`s.well guess what so is american carwash service and repair now. they are now a full service facility not a quik lube
and they get busy if you have to wait you have to wait.If you are in a hurry call ahead ... view moreof time and set something up they have a bay set aside just for oil changes.i will still be taking my car there they have always used floormats nad seat covers on my vehicles and always done a good job for me. everyone hated a quik lube until it was gone.

was happy before they changed
I used to come here all the time for the last 5 or 6 years and was perfectly happy. However, I no longer like it here. You cant just show up anymore and get your oil changed, you have to make an appointment and wait outside of your car in their dirty waiting area. I mean really, the rude old lady working in there can at least take 5 minutes to dust off a chair or pick up news papers strewn about.

Then I wait ... view more20 minutes after my appointment time for them to even bother getting to my car. I forgot to mention I told them i was on my lunch break and needed this finished in under and hour. When they did finally get to my car they took their sweet old time and then the woman at the counter had no idea how to input the coupon I had with me. So she had to call in every single mechanic they had there to figure it out. By the time I left the entire appointment took over an hour and a half for JUST an oil change. Thats sort of ridiculous to me when it used to only be 20 minutes tops.

I also saw them interact with other customers who werent aware of all the changes and they were very disinterested in making them happy or providing them with service. Most customers left there unhappy the day I was in.

Would not tell a friend thats for sure....

bad choice
i recently was at american carwash service and repair / quik lube or whatever it is now. i think they dont know what they are anymore. it seems that the head mechanic was let go to lack of work so i was told.i have witnessed first hand that this person that was let go was the foundation for making the company expand but was always held back when he suggested options for different things.. he was always good to his cl... view moreientel such as myself and others and its to bad that he out of all that are left was the one to go. my opinion is that was a real bad move on the company to let go of the top guy they had who could have ran the shop in better ways than it is being run now. im sorry to say i wont be back and i will be trying to find out his new location to take my work to him. i would sure like to tell the others that if i find him i will try to find a way to tell all. in all i along with others will not return to your shop do to bad judgment and letting the wrong mechanic take the walk.he was your foundation for the future to bad for you and your company.

who get`s mad about an oil change anyway?
I have been going to american carwash for years and never had a problem so you can`t sit in your car anymore booh hoo.is it gonna bother you to have a seat in a waiting room.like many buisnesses they changed their focus so they could give a better service I don`t know about you but I would rather have a trained technician working on my car than some highschool kid putting the wrong filter on and stripping my oil pan ... view moreout.I can go there get my carwashed brakes done oilchanged i have even bought tires there.they had the lowest tire price`s in town.good thing come to those who wait.

By appointment only my a$$
I having been taking multiple vehicles there for 10 years. Not only can you not stay in your car, now they only perform oil changes by appointment.

I learned this by sitting outside for 15 minutes with no interest from the employee working this morning 1/27/09 at 8am. Then I went in for him to tell me it was by appointment. That was the last word and last visit I will have with them.

There are plenty o... view moref businesses out there who will bend-over backwards to get your money these days. Do not waste your time or money where the business feels like they are going out of their way for you to be their customer.

Great Place ... Friendly People
I`ve been going here from day one. I have 5 cars that go through there for Oil, Inspections, Tire rotations and car washes. I`ve never had a problem. I know these guys now and they are a great bunch of guys. Jim,
the Service Manager, is a great guy and always cuts me a break on services. I`ve never been disappointed or felt like I was screwed by these guys. They are honest and hard working. I highly recomme... view morend this place. They are honest and reliable.

american car wash and quick lube
I would not recommend this local businees to anyone. I would try and pursuade other customers to seek this service at any other local provider. I used this business several months ago. they used bad product on my vehicle. The oli filter rubber seal was damaged prior to installation on my vehicle, When I brought the issue to the manager`s attention he stated he had to perform due diligence on the issue with the owner... view mores and the supplier of this product they used on my vehicle. I have had to call back 2 times since then at 2-3 week intervals. The manager has been less than helpful in resolving or moving resolution forward. The main reason I choose this business was thier advertising that started out as they wanted all thier customers to feel like they wanted thiwer daughter to feel when she went for an oil change. The actual practice of the business does not match that claim.
