Reliable Service
Your review Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Reliable Service?ˆ? - ?ˆ? - 2009-10-08 I came to Outten Chevrolet in search of an affordable SUV with winter capabilities (For those harsh Pennsylvania winters) and enough comfortable space for my wife and two kids. Before this, Our family owned a Ford that lasted a good number of years, but the transmission... view more was on the edge, and the interior was a little beaten from my two younger children. We were looking to move into something new and reliable, safe, and comfortable for my family. I`ve heard of Outten for many years, living in the allentown area. I could see the name almost every day, on the back bumper of every vehicle driving around the Lehigh Valley. So I thought Hey, They must be a reliable business in the area? When My wife and I entered the store, we were welcomed by a young salesman who took us through the process. At first I was a little worried because the salesperson seemed very young, but to his credit, he knew what he was talking about, and awnsered all my questions. We talked about the different specs available in the range of vehicles we were looking at. The main questions that were confronted were: What was needed for our family? and What kind of MPG I was trying to reach? I already knew coming into the store that I had my eye to purchase a Equinox, but looked at all the models available in that class. After a thorough walk through and test drive, I picked out an `09 equinox with the base package. My trade was appraised (I was slightly suprised at the value I received, since I did look it up on the internet, and it was valued $300 dollars less than they gave me) and I moved through the rest of the buying process. Before, I have felt uncomfortable with the process and the actual sales numbers. This time we worked through the numbers, and eventually reached the paymet I could afford each month. I had a good credit score, so this definatly made the process easiier. After this, I met the manager and he went over everything with me just to make sure. Shook hands, and put a down payment down. The next day I was driving away with a brand new Equinox. I do know the car shopping experience can be frustrating and awkward, but It was much easier this time around. I liked the salesperson, the manager, and way I was treated. A dealership that has been in the community for so long has to have something the others don`t. I felt satisfied about the process and It felt right to buy it at the right time. I definately suggest to my friends and family to go to Outten if your shopping for a new Chevrolet. Good luck Shopping, Lee

Local Chevy Dealer... Outdated Facilities... Not much selection... 3 out of 5 stars
Outten Chevrolet is located at 17th and Tilghman on the west-end of Allentown and is one of the few remaining local automobile dealerships within city limits. The shop is outdated and looks like it was last remodeled in the 80`s... Cramped sales offices, no PC`s, dirty looking facility. Selection of available vehicles is mediocre and the sales routine - sales associate takes deal to manager and back and forth seems ... view moreto be an outdated routine - much despised from the customer`s perspective. Sales associates were pleasant and professional which were a major positive and the only reason I didn`t leave. I did buy a car but it was an unpleasant experience that left a sour taste... Probably wouldn`t go back. I do like to support (patronize) local businesses; but sometimes they really don`t deserve your loyalty. Update your facilities and join the 21st century. Consider abolishing the sales associate routine where he goes back-and-forth with the deal. It`s sooooooo unprofessional. Do you think the customer is an idiot and doesn`t know what`s going on?
