Worst Experience!

I went To Ronnie`s Automotive in Billerica, MA for an oil change and a state inspection. They told me I would fail the state inspection because my rear tires would not pass--they said they were too bald. I asked them for the actual tread depth, and was given some vague qualitative answer that they would not pass. BS. They were REALLY encouraging me to buy new tires (they gave me an estimate) and then to get the ins... view morepection done, said they could do it all the same day. I said no thanks.

I had the vehicle undergo a pre-purchase inspection 3 weeks before I went to Ronnie`s (I just bought the car from a private party) and was given a report that reads the rear tires were 6/32nds. According to MA law from the RMV site, 2/32nds should pass. I visited another 2 garages (YES, 2) the day after I went to Ronnie`s, and it was confirmed that the rear tires were indeed 6/32nds and the car passed inspection.

Ronnie and his goons at Ronnie`s Automotive are crooks, and will probably prey on most unsuspecting females. They were more interested in selling me tires than passing a perfectly passable vehicle for state inspection.

And PS, they DO NOT do oil changes under Meineke`s name anymore...I called to check with HQ. They have a Meineke sign for who knows what, but it`s NOT FOR OIL CHANGES.

They were feeding me the bs about the tires while my oil was being changed. Listen to this---to top it all off I noticed the little sticker on the top left corner of my windshield reads I need to get my oil changed in the next 2,000 miles...not 3,000. Did they think I wouldn`t notice?? They tried to dupe me into thinking I would need my next oil change 1,000 miles sooner than I would. Who does that??

I did complain to the Mass RMV, but since Ronnie`s didn`t officially ""FAIL"" me (and just turned me away, in hopes I would buy their tires), it`s my word against theirs...and nothing can be done. I know I`m never going back!
