Our History We have come a long way since the night Bruce and Joyce sat down around the table with their kids to think of a name for this shop, but family is still at the heart of our operation. Bruce and Joyce Hansen founded Great Plains Auto Body in November 1988 as a family owned and operated auto body repair shop. We first opened our doors in Omaha, Nebraska in a 5000 sq. ft. leased facility at 78th and "F" street. In 1992, 2500 sq. ft. were added. In 1996, we purchased the 17,000 sq. ft. building and 3 and 1/2 acres of land, which serves as our current location. In 2000, we underwent a major addition to the repair facilities (12,000 sq. ft.) and an extensive remodel to the administrative offices. Along the way, we have found excellent employees who believe in the service we want to provide. In 2007 we opened a second location in the Lake Manawa area of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The growth did not stop there!? In 2012 we opened our third location on Emmet Street in Omaha. We work on all cars foreign and domestic and are the only Mercedes certified shop in Nebraska. Our technicians are ASE and I-CAR Gold Certified. All insurance companies welcomed and have a Lifetime Warranty on our work. Free estimates.

Great Auto Body Shop - best in town!

I really could not say enough good things about Great Plains. They really went above and beyond to help me in my car "situation." They were fair, fast and all around great. The place didn`t feel like an auto body shop, it was clean, relaxed and fun. You know when you go to Jiffy Lube and they try to upgrade your oil change by selling you an air filter? There is NONE of this here. It was straight forwa... view morerd and honest. I REALLY enjoyed this business in such a awful situation. Plus the have a car rental place right there so I didn`t need to run around town.

service

i had the worst service experience with manager Ed. after i got my car back from them, i realized my autostarter remote control wasn`t the same condition before i left. so i brought it it and talked to him. he said that that wasn`t their responsibility. they dropped my car key and broke the lcd screen on my car remote control and telling me that i was wrong? and i was trying to blaim on them? after little over 3 minu... view moretes, he kept saying, we are not going anywhere with that matter. yes because i wanted them to apologize and he didn`t admit the fault that they made. it was a brand remote control and it doesn`t have to have a scratch on it in order to prove that they broke it. it was very unpleasant experience and i never want to go back.
