White glove inspections?

This had been my oil change source for a decade now. But I just had my 2005 Toyota fail inspection because the engine had some oil on it. Seems odd particularly from a place that spilled so much oil on my Saturn last change that l the spark plug wells were filled. The kid doing the inspection claimed it was a leaking power steering fluid. But when my mechanic next door at Monroe looked at it There was no leak... view more at all in the power steering unit and no safety issue and the car passed safety and emission inspection without a hitch. He said there was small engine leak on the rear of the engine that was not a hazard. The manager at Valvoline says they were just being safe. This leads me to question whether it is worth the convenience to have people that can not tell the difference between power steering fluid and engine oil service and inspect. If you go there be sure that spit and polish that engine first. .
