About a year ago my transmission went out in my Volvo. I shopped around found out I could take it to a Volvo dealer and it would cost $5k - $7k or Cottman in ST Peters for $3k. I took it to Cottman and they have been wonderful to work with. Volvo`s are difficult to work on unless you are familiar with them. I had two issues since having the transmission put in. Be careful of getting conned.

I returned my vehicle for a warranty repair since my shifter stopped working within a few months of a full transmission rebuild. Was told I would have to pay nearly $300 for a shifter and cable replacement. When I refused and asked for the release of my vehicle to take it somehwere else, they discovered that it was just a loose bolt and tightened free of charge.
