I read several bad reviews when I was researching a car I liked that Lipscomb had on the lot. The truth is, many of these bad reviewers bought very inexpensive vehicles and agreed to an as-is - no warranty deal. You really can`t fault a car company after you sign that you`re accepting the vehicle as-is (one reviewer even heard a knock in the engine during the test drive...why you would expect the vehicle to last is b... view moreeyond me). You should always be cautious when buying a used vehicle, no matter who you buy from. That`s smart consumerism 101. My experience was that the guys at Lipscomb were very courteous and respected that I wanted to buy a particular car and did not try to upsell me when I was ready to make a deal. They offered me a fair price on my trade-in and respected my wishes to finance through my bank. I would buy from them again.

Do not purchase a car from thi...

Do not purchase a car from this dealership. I purchased a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited on 10/31/11. While test driving I heard a knocking coming from around the rear of the engine. The salesman informed me that this was the way older jeeps sounded and that nothing would be wrong as they inspected "every part" of their vehicles, and were even upside down on this Jeep. While driving from the dealership the c... view moreheck engine light came on. The dealer lead me to a mechanic in town who told me that "Sometimes, in Jeeps, sensors in the engine needed to warm up and that the check engine light will come on periodically while they warmed up." Upon getting the Jeep home I had a mechanic in my town check up on it and was told that the error code read "Warm Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold". I was told that this could be either a bad oxygen sensor or a bad catalytic converter. Well, the catalytic converter was out, and the repair would run $700. I found the part for $473.99 and decided to install it myself. I informed Lipscomb Auto Group of the cost of the part and was told by the salesman "Yeah, he (his manager, Mr Lipscomb I presume) is going to back out on that one."

dont buy from them

I think this company is a rip off! they sold my parent-in-laws a car about 2 weeks for about $2000.00 ago and everything was working fine on it when they bought it. this morning after driving it for less then two weeks the transmission went out and the car is stranded alone with my father-in-law. anyway, I will make sure anyone i know never buys a car from Lipscomb Auto here in Nixa, Mo.
