Low Estimate, High Bill

First trip, state inspection and brake work, inexpensive and done quickly. Very satisfied. Second trip, transmission work. Estimate given was 1week, $1600. Sounded great. 1 week goes by, "We just got the parts. Haven`t started yet." A few more days.... "It will be done by the end of the week." End of the week... "Tomorrow." Go to pick up the car that is "ready", only to find the check engine light on, oil ... view morepressure gauge reading zero, and the transmission still not shifting gears. "Bring it back on Monday."... Brought it back, they say it`s a clogged catalytic converter. $350 more and 1 more week. Estimate of 1 week and $1600 turned into 3 weeks and $1950. 1 week of vacation time wasted, and $800 in car rental fees. Good thing my employer had a sense of humor about me having to get a rental car again and again and show up to work late. Like I said, first experience was good. But this second trip is enough to sour any word-of-mouth recommendations from me. First to hear it were the Enterprise car rental staff.
