My husband and I bought a used...

My husband and I bought a used car from Cole`s in late 2010. They said it was extremely reliable and they knew the previous owner personally... though it was from 1995. We felt like we were getting a good deal because we wanted to pay cash. $4k with all the taxes and fees... which took us forever to save up. Long story short, the Check Engine light came on within 3 days of driving it. I brought it back in and the... view morey said it was &quot;no big deal&quot;. That light is for &quot;suckers&quot; so they pay mechanics. After 3 weeks of driving this &quot;reliable&quot; car, it wouldn`t even START when we tried to drive it to work. I asked a mechanic who said totally &quot;got taken&quot; and they shouldn`t have sold it to us. We tried to deal with them to take it back or buy a different car instead, but they weren`t having any of it. They set themselves up to be a family business, but believe me, they don`t care about you... just the cash you bring in the door. Ended up selling the stupid thing to Carmax for $1,600. Lesson learned, buy your cars at Carmax!
