B-Line great job

Took my Tahoe to a few other locations in the area and they looked dirty unclean was told about B-line drove over and met the owner who was very honest and nice man, I left my Tahoe came back a few days later fell in love with my car all over again .....Thanks to B-line .must have 5 stars

Think twice - my wheels feel off my car after repairs here

Generally I don`t write reviews, but I don`t want the same thing to happen to someone else. I took my BMW 530i for repair at B-Line in late January 2009 for minor body work on the left side panel... I came back on a Thursday to pick up my car in the morning... the repair was done in a sloppy manner (there was white resin remaining on parts of the left panel) - Angela claimed that it looked fine (although even a blind... view more person could tell it wasn`t finished cleanly), but Michael the owner apologized and said that some of his guys didn`t make it to work that week, so the work was a bit sloppy - so he asked me to come back in the afternoon, and he would personally see to it that my car is finished properly. So I came back in the afternoon and got my car back. At the time, it looked fine - on the outside.

The problem was that B-Line did not torque my rear wheel properly, so about 1 week later, the same rear wheel that they put back onto my car, fell off my car, immediately after I got off the freeway. This badly damaged my axle, rear and side panels, bumper, etc. It scares me to think that it could have been fatal, had the wheel fallen off on the 280 freeway, which I was on. But ""luckily"" it fell off about a quarter-mile after getting off the freeway. Anyways, it was determined that B-Line did not torque the wheels properly (the most basic thing), so B-Line`s insurance company, Zurich, paid for the ensuing damages to the car. After all the insurance and repair wrangling was done, I got my car back in April 2009, two months after the ""accident"" happened. This time, the repair was done properly by Autowest Body Shop in San Jose. This experience was a major hassle (and potentially dangerous), and one that I hope nobody else goes through.

One other thing I noticed was that these guys are not honest. They quoted me two different labor rates: a cheaper rate if I repair it out of my own pocket, and a $20/hour more expensive rate for labor if I handle the repairs directly through my auto insurance company - obviously, the were pressuring me hard to let them handle it through my auto insurance company. I chose to handle this on my own, so I got a ""cheaper"" rate. I don`t know if this is commonly done in the industry, but in any case, it`s dishonest. And I don`t like dishonest people, especially if they are sloppy/incompetent too. So think twice before you use B-Line for your bodywork.
