these guys are a small, independent local buisness. they are fast, very friendly and good. got my smog check done in about 15 for $40.25. they have a bunch of letters of thank you from previous customers posted at their counter, and i would recomend them. ill be going back for work i need done in the future.

While I only needed a smog test, I found the service to be professional, capable and friendly. I was inclined to ignore the hot-headed comments of previous reviewers and I`m glad I did. Drove in at 7:30 am was helped immediately and was on my way to work with a PASS result in hand 20 minutes later. And all for only $40.25. We had terrible service at this auto shop. We brought in out car for a big repair - and we had problems lasting 3 months after that. The worst was when our car died 2 hours from home due to their negligent repair (this was after it died on the 101). We submitted an offer to settle and Don rejected it. We were forced to submit a claim to the Bureau of Automotive Repairs, a state regulating agency and file a small ... view moreclaims complaint. The Bureau of Automotive Repairs founds negligent repairs and Don`s finally agreed to settle. We dismissed the small claims complaint. We were very disappointed and VOWED to only get service on our car at the dealership from now on. The premium of cost to repair is worth the knowledge that they are more service oriented and will respond to a valid complaint.

This is my 1st review here on Citysearch and it`s my pleasure to tell you about this place. I was given a quick and fair estimate after telling them my car`s problems. I was there for brakes and there was also some electrical work that I diagnosed and they said they`ll check it out. Found out I was wrong with the diagnosis and it was a simple fix for them. They even topped off my fluids. Might seem like a small... view more favor, but there are some places that will send a car out a quart of oil low because you brought it there for brakes. All in all, they do there job and then some. I`ve finally found a good shop and I`m going to settle here at Don`s.......

Talk about great service! I went to three brake repair garages today with no luck of being seen... not to mention I called a dozen more. I finally called Don`s Auto Service to find out their business hours since it was already 3:15 p.m. and my brakes were in dire need of attention. They said they closed at 5:30 and I assumed that wouldn`t be enough time so I was about to say good-bye when the voice on the other e... view morend of the phone asked what it was I needed. I explained my situation and he said I should just come on down and bring my car in. I dropped off my car, received a phone call a half hour later with a detailed explanation and a fair quote. I agreed to the service and I was told to pick up my car at 5:15. Sure enough, I get there and my brakes are fixed and it didn`t cost me an arm and a leg like some of the other places I got quotes from. Excellent service above and beyond what I ever expected.

I got the timing adjusted on my Jeep Wrangler and immediately afterward noticed that it was running funny. It was very sluggish and slow to respond when I pushed down the gas. They told me to bring it back in and when I was on my way, the Jeep stalled. Then I tried to start it and it burst into flames. The garage beat the firetruck to the scene to put the fire out, but then said that the fire wasn`t their fault. ... view more They said they knew ""a guy"" who would buy the totaled Jeep off of me for $500. They were being very pushy about getting the title from me as soon as possible. Since they won`t cooperate and just be honest about their fault in the fire, I`m having to go through the hassle of small claims court. Now I have to get around the city by bus and streetcar because they destroyed my only vehicle. Overall, I`m severly unsatisfied with their work.
