I found Scotty the owner to be very pleasant. With a sincere smile he asked, ""what can I do for you?"" I stated that I needed a smog check to which he reponded, ""we can do that right away for you."" S... view morecotty himself did the smog check, and no-more than 20 minutes later I was driving away.
Before going to Scotty`s Brake & Muffler, I called 8 to 12 other businesses to check for pricing. The average quote was in the $40.00+ range, and some were as high as $65.00 and $70.00! At Scotty`s I paid $30.00 including the certificate and processing.
Before leaving I asked Scotty about the range of work that is done at his shop. He mentioned that apart from brakes and mufflers his shop did everything having to do with general maintenance of a vehicle but that they ""stop at knowledge."" He went on to explain that he does not like to work on something that is too complicated or specialized because he feels that he could not do the work in a way that is ""fair to the customer"". Scotty was being candid, and I appreciated that.
I left Scotty`s Brake & Muffler feeling I had found an automotive repair shop that deals honestly and fairly with their customers. I will most certainly return to Scotty`s for my automotive maintenance needs, and I most certainly recommend it to anyone reading this review.
