Bait and Switch

Everything started out great with my visit. The salesman was nice and helpful. I found a truck I wanted and the next morning I gave these guys a chance to make it happen. I was quoted a great price over the phone, so I decided to go with it. That`s where the situation turned. When I got there, they tried to give me about 65% of the fair value of my trade-in, explaining that that was built into the lower price quo... view moreted to me on the phone. That was conveniently left out until I was actually on the premises. After painfully working it out to a fair compromise, I signed all the paperwork to trade in my vehicle and purchase the truck. At that point, the finance guy came up and said, "we have a problem." They `accidentally` certified the vehicle, though it was 1k miles over the certification threshhold. So instead of the 7-year 100k mile warranty, I had a state mandated 200 or 500 mile warranty. In order to get the warranty I`d been sold on, I needed to pay roughly $1500 additional. This was after I was there for about 2.5-3 hours. Rather than acknowledging their error and figuring out a compromise, they tried to sell me on a longer term and slightly lower finance rate, which still ultimately equaled the $1500 difference. That was patently offensive, considering I have an I.Q. over 70, so I walked. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.
