We are selling my wife's sporty scion TC. The car has mostly been driven on the highway due to commuting from home to work. We have had routine oil changes and tire rotations every 3000 miles. The car has been an excellent and reliable vehicle for my wife, as we have not experienced any mechanical or electrical issues to date. This would make for a wonderful first car or for anyone looking for a reliable, well maintained, gas friendly, sporty vehicle. The exterior color is Azure Pearl, which is very light silvery blue color. The interior is composed of black leather seats and trim. There is also a rear lip spoiler. Panoramic sun roofs. Brand new tires. Pioneer audio system. Cruise control. Outside temp display. Keyless entry (2 keys). Bucket driver and passenger seats. Blinker indicator lights to both side view mirrors. The car has been maintained in a smoke-free environment. The back seats and passenger seat are unremarkable. There is minor wear to the drivers' upper seat on the edge due to getting in and out of the vehicle. The back seats fold forward easily and opens up a lot of room to haul larger items. To date, we have not experienced any mechanical problems. No dents to the exterior are noted, however there is one small scratch to the drivers' side and one small scratch to the bumper (approx. 1/2 inch). The paint has not chipped to the areas. The vehicle was purchased from a woman who had the car custom made for her by Toyota with all of the additional features that she wished for, which includes the optional OBX gas and break pedals and OBX gear shift. We have driven the vehicle with care and have thoroughly enjoyed this car. We are selling our Scion due to purchasing a larger vehicle to suit our family. We are happy to answer any additional questions. Title in hand and ready to sell!

Scion rolls out its past concepts, one last time
Thu, Mar 24 2016In 2002, we first met Scion by way of the silver BBx concept you see above, the iconic toaster that soon became the production xB hatchback. That was the official kick-off of Toyota's youth-oriented brand, and it all started right here at the New York Auto Show. But Scion's being phased out this year, and the very last brand-new car is a special edition tC – interesting, since that's the only model not being carried over with Toyota badges. So to commemorate the life of Scion, just as it comes to an end, a number of the brand's most important concepts are on display in New York. The BBx is arguably the most important concept, though the one that garnered the most attention in recent years was the original FR-S (the "Friggin' Really Sweet" car) from the 2011 New York show. That came to production as Scion's (and Toyota's) best-driving car, using a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive architecture shared with the Subaru BRZ. Thankfully, the Scion FR-S will live on as the Toyota 86. Also of note are the 2004 FiveAxie Speedster xA, 2009 Kogi BBQ Truck XD, original 2009 iQ concept (remember the iQ?), and a 2014 tC designed by Slayer. They're all on display here in New York, and you can see them all, one last time, in the gallery above.
Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
Toyota FT-86 Open Concept leaves us feeling flushed
Wed, 20 Nov 2013When last we checked in on our topless would-be hero, the Toyota FT-86 convertible had been reportedly placed on "indefinite hold." That was back in early October, not long after Toyota had trotted out the rear-wheel-drive canvasback to Scion dealers as a possible future product carrot if they decided not to turn in their franchises. And yet, we're here at the Tokyo Motor Show, where Toyota has taken the time to at least repaint the FT-86 Open Concept in "Flash Red," if not build a whole other car (the original Geneva showcar was white). It's enough to make our heads spin like a teenager on the verge of a breakup. Will they? Won't they?
At this point, we still don't know any more than you do - the last word we heard out of Toyota was not encouraging, although the story was that the program could still be fast-tracked if management had a change of heart. As the car has never been seen before in Japan, perhaps Toyota is merely extending its domestic audience a courtesy view before it lines this showcar in mothballs, or maybe they're still trying to make a decision on its fate and gauging public reaction on the homefront.
Interestingly, in a new story published today, Automotive News quotes Subaru brand boss Yasuyuki Yoshinaga downplaying the likelihood of a production model, saying flatly "We make the car, so if we don't make it, it can't happen." The executive went on to note, "Our engineering department told me that losing the entire roof requires a complete redesign of the structure. It would need a big change." Given that such a car would probably trade in rather small volumes, that sounds like a significant hurtle.
