Up for sale is a very nice, very clean, well maintained 2002 Saturn Vue with the 3.0 V6 and 5-speed automatic transmission (not the troublesome VTi transmission found in most Vue's)...This vehicle also has All Wheel Drive (great for the rainy season or for going out in snow.. I drove to California over Christmas through the Siskiyous in a bad snow storm and never once slipped or slid)...It needs some minor TLC, but will make some one a great car! It is a very very nice car and every one who has seen it/driven it, has commented its one of the nicer Vue's around.

Options include: Side Curtain Airbags, Dual Air Bags, ABS, CD/Cassette Player, Moonroof, Keyless Entry, Cruise/Tilt, Height Adjustable Drivers Seat and more... Its well equipped and very clean inside, although, it may need to be vaccumed and have a few grease spots cleaned off the seats, but there are no major stains. I have the Carpeted Floor mats and some aftermarket rubber floor mats as well. There have never been children in the car, its never been smoked in and still smells new. I just had the rear liftgate shocks replaced as well. There are no leaks and the A/C is ice cold. I just replaced the cabin air filter as well. I have 3 keys, 2 remotes and the owners manual as well. All windows, locks and other options work as they should

Mechanically the car is in OK shape.. I have done alot to the car over the past few months and so did the prior owners estate before I inhertied it.. BUT, the car doesn't currently run. It turns over, it gets fuel, but no spark... My mechanic has put a new timing belt, crank sensor, coil packs, spark plugs, intake gasket, upper radiator hose, thermostat and housing, drive belt, water pump and a few other minor tune up items.. I took it to him in early march with a misfire code (which was fixed) and due to differing circumstances (i had to have emergency surgery and had a massive car accident which resulted in me getting stuck in another state until june) he's had it since. Its started and driven a few times for him, even after the timing belt change. There is an electrical issue and we both believe it to be simple, but I am out of steam with it. In the past year its had:
New Valve Cover Gaskets, New Brakes Front and Rear, Brake Flush, Coolent Flush, 3 Oil Changes, 4 new tiresfrom costco, Alingment, Sway Bar Links, 3rd Brake Light, Transfer Case Service, Rear Liftgate Shocks, Brake Light Switch, 3rd Brake Light Replaced, All filters replaced (air, cabin air and fuel).. I really did alot to it (I have receipts), in the hopes of driving it to 300K... I have a folder with most of the service history on this car, it had a full tune up and service at 90K and now again at 165K. Its had alot of maintence and other things done and been well kept. I feel it will still be a strong car if you have patience to trace down the electrical issue (its gotta be minor, the engine turns over fine). I wasn't given patience at birth and I already replaced it with another Mercedes.

This was a So. Cal car until november, when I inherited it from a friend when she passed away. There is zero rust on the car, a few spots on the window trim have some flaky paint, but nothing bad.. There is one minor scratch on the passenger side where I got to close to something and scratched the car on a pole.. This car has saturns famous dent resistant plastic panels and it shows. Very clean and nice car. I have driven it on several long trips and its done very well.

I no longer need an AWD SUV (I upgraded to a 2004 Mercedes Benz E Class wagon with 4matic and am getting a 2000 C230 as well) and I don't need 4 cars... This car won't dissapoint you, and with a little time/patience, you can get a good, solid, well maintained car out of it.. I am not selling it because I am hard up for cash or what ever else people might think. I just want it to find a good home and get the rest of the life out of it. You really have to see the car to understand how nice it is.. Its a little dusty from sitting, but a good wash and it will shine.

I have a clean title in hand (plates are good until November 2014 too), a clean carfax in hand as well.  I know the car will run/drive fine once the electrical issue is fixed. I swear on a stack of bibles to that. I am only selling because I don't need the car and don't want to invest any further money into it. So be warned low ballers, car dealers and any one else who emails/calls/texts: im not hard up for cash AND will not give the car away. The car is located in NE Portland near the airport at my mechanics shop. I can only show the car when he is open, unless other arrangments are made.

*IF YOU USE THE BUY IT NOW FEATURE, I WILL INCLUDE AN EXTRA TIRE, MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AND A THROTTLE BODY (WHICH IN AND OF ITS SELF IS WORTH $1100, THIS ONE IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD WITH 15k ON IT... WAS TAKEN FROM MY FRIENDS VUE WHICH GOT WRECKED).ALSO MAY HAVE EXTRA PIECES I WILL INCLUDE AS I FIND THEM.. THIS IS ONLY FOR BUY IT NOW CUSTOMERS*

Junkyard Gem: 2007 Saturn Sky

Sat, Jun 26 2021

The Pontiac Division didn't have long to live when the Solstice first appeared in 2005 as a 2006 model, and Saturn's head was inching toward the chopping block at about the same rate. Still, optimism reigned — at least, it did until the global economy fell apart — and so Saturn Dealers got a rebadged version of the Solstice to sell: the Sky. Available for just the 2007 through 2010 model years, slightly more than 34,000 Skies rolled out of showrooms before the doors were nailed shut. Here's one of those rare cars, found in a Denver-area self-service yard a few weeks ago. I've found a handful of discarded Solstices in car graveyards during the past few years, mostly with crash damage. This Sky endured a medium-hard impact in the right front corner, which sent it to this place. The 177-horsepower, 2.4-liter Ecotec still resides under the battered hood. The Sky Redline version had a turbocharged engine rated at 260 horses; we can assume that such an engine would be yanked and purchased by the first junkyard shopper that realized what it was. The base transmission in the Sky was an Aisin five-speed manual, but this car has the optional five-speed automatic.  The Sky had its own nose and some different badging, but otherwise didn't differ much from the Solstice.  For the South Korean market, the Sky got Daewoo G2X badges and was advertised as the ideal vehicle for high-speed chases through Seoul traffic. The same car went to Europe as the Opel GT. Sadly, GM ran out of money to make right-hand-drive Skies, so we never got to witness Holden or Vauxhall versions. Here's Bob Lutz describing the new Sky. Lutz really hated car names molded into plastic bumper covers, so he takes great care here to describe the genuine glued-on emblems. Related Video:

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

GM nixes fleet-only Chevy Captiva Sport

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Well, guys, it looks like Saturn is finally dead in the United States once and for all. According to Automotive News, Chevrolet has discontinued production of its fleet-only Captiva Sport - a rebadged Saturn Vue - after three years on the market. The very last US-spec Captiva Sport was built in Mexico in August. GM will still produce the vehicle for sale in the Mexican market, as well as for export.
GM initially offered the Captiva Sport for rental fleets as a way to free up capacity for the sightly larger Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers, which, according to AN, had been in short supply. The Captiva Sport also did a nice job protecting the resale values of its other similar-sized CUVs because they didn't have to play in the fleet market. But with Chevrolet preparing to launch its subcompact Trax CUV in the US, the automaker will soon have a clear, three-tier crossover lineup without the Captiva Sport. The Trax fills out the bottom end, followed by the Equinox and the seven-passenger Traverse.
For now, renters seeking a taste of 'Classic GM' will have to whet their appetites with the fullsize Impala Limited.
