The 2007 Saturn Sky and Pontiac Sunfire were intended as a reintroduction of GM performance cars. Following in the Corvette tradition, with forged aluminum suspension components, and the new GM Ecotec engine, the car delivered great performance and convertible fun at a budget price.

This 2007 Saturn Sky is finished in a bright silver with black interior. Having covered only 74,000 miles, this low mileage 5 speed example is ready for summer. Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition, with all features (softtop, power windows, power locks) working well. The car has also been mechanically well maintained, and the softtop is in excellent condition.

The car has been very reliable, and has been transportation for a Graduate School student for the past two years. This particular Sky features:
- Leather Interior
- 5 speed manual transmission
- GM 2.4L ecotec engine delivering 177 bhp and 17 city/27 highway mpg

In full disclosure, the car does have some cosmetic flaws. The driver's side door was hit in an accident from the first owner. As a result, the title is clear and the car appears okay, but the repair is not of absolute top quality. The panel gap is slightly off, and interior trim panels don't fit perfectly. Additionally, there is a scratch on the rear bumper, and the keyless entry works intermittently (which is a common issue for that year Sky). The car will also probably need new tires within 5-10k miles.

However, for a fun summer convertible, nothing will prevent you from enjoying the car. I bought this car from a private party seller who did NOT disclose these items with me, and I would just prefer to be honest about the car.

Honda wins Commercial of the Decade, but not for the ad you think [w/VIDEO]

Honda's Commercial of the Decade: "Grrr" - Click above to watch video
The mad men at Adweek recently voted for the Commercial of the Decade (Super Bowl commercials not included) and Honda took top honors over memorable ads from the last ten years by companies like Nike, Budweiser and Sony. That's not a big surprise considering Honda often puts a huge amount of effort into its on-air spots. However, the Japanese automaker didn't win for the commercial you might have expected: "Cog." Though Honda's famous commercial that breaks down a European Accord Tourer into a Rube Goldberg-esque machine was also a finalist, it was beaten by another Honda commercial called "Grrr" that's narrated by Garrison Keillor of all people. You've probably never seen it, but you can after the jump.
Volkswagen also made the list of finalists, but the particular ad chosen out of all the comical VW ads we've seen was unexpected as well. Most surprising carmaker with a commercial in the finals: Saturn. Who knew...

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
