- Saab lovers, enjoy! One of the best '92s in existence - inside, outside, mechanically, headliner, dashboard, period. I've updated that pesky throttle computer to the version they used in the later Aeros - bingo! Numerous subtle performance upgrades including exhaust, ECM, and suspension. The wheels - oh, the wheels. I've even got an extra set, and for that matter, an extra running(ish) numbers (and paint) matching '92 turbo parts car, either or both of which I can offer you at additional cost. Alas, it seems I'm getting out of the game... time for you to take advantage! Oh yeah, and it goes like a bat out of hell. The Swedish plate on the front is a shortening of the name I've come up with... Svenskapow!
- The paint and body are in Very VERY Good condition. I've tried to detail all noticeable issues in photos. Things that were impractical or impossible to photograph are listed here. There are approx. 3 tiny chips on the front sides of things here and there, the airdam is completely in tact, and looking quite good, though it has touched the ground on very seldom occasion. There is a sub-dime-sized bubble that is miles away from actually breaking through the paint on the front flare of the driver's side rear wheel-well, and that's really it. Just Look At It!!!
- The two mechanical/electrical issues I am aware of at this time are that the SRS sensor light blinks in the instrument cluster, and that the cruise control doesn't work. The cruise went with my throttle computer update, and as the computer that runs the cruise lives right next door to the throttle control unit, under the driver's seat, I suspect this function can be restored simply - and I know a guy who could help, if you don't.
- Pricing on extras will be as follows. Spare set of pristine identical wheels including hard to find low profile Blizzaks with under 1000 miles on them - $900. Spare set of nice Saab Alloy Wheels of a smaller diameter with low mileage winter tires - $700. Identical (save for the interior color) Great Shape Parts Car - $1200
- I am the third caring and loving owner of this piece of automotive art. I purchased it two and a half years ago from the second owner in Chicago, and while keeping it garaged and in pristine shape, I've put less than 5000 miles on it myself.
- I encourage longer distance buyers to take this listing seriously. If you're outside of a 600 mile radius of Pittsburgh, please get in touch to talk pickup/delivery plans before bidding. Otherwise I can drive to you (potentially at shared expense depending on distance), drive to meet you halfway, or make the car available for pickup at the Pittsburgh Airport. I have complete confidence in the car's readiness for even cross-country-sized road trips.
- Work done within the past month - Brand new uniroyal low profile tigerpaw all season tires, Full Synthetic Oil Change, Air Conditioning Dye and Recharge, Full PA State and County Emissions Inspection, and a brand new NOS Saab Headlight Switch.
- Clutch is in Great Shape and has a confidence inspiring middle to low engagement point. Groundbreaking (for 1992) electronic throttle and integrated traction control system are in full working order, and the traction control can be tastefully deleted by many clever Saab shops around the country. Since chipped, horsepower has been in the 220-240 range, aftermarket suspension is tight and quite level in the corners, full stainless exhaust looks great and sounds even better (on the pleasant side of tasteful but still throaty). This engine loves the 2500-4500rpm range, and so does the boost gauge. I have service records going back to the dawn of time.
- If you're looking for a nice, fast, fun, and practical vintage Saab, what more could you want? I'm sure someone of you can answer that question, so get in touch, and I'll do my best to get you what you need in terms of info, assurances, and additional photos.
- WINNER TAKES THE RIDE IN THIS NO-RESERVE AUCTION - BID WITH CONFIDENCE, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!!!!!

Spyker files $3 billion lawsuit against General Motors over Saab's demise
Mon, 06 Aug 2012"Smack." That's the sound of Spyker's process server dropping a big ol' pile of legal documents on the doorstep of The Renaissance Center, home of General Motors - or wherever GM's attorneys live during business hours. Contained therein is a Complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and demanding a jury trial, that seeks $3 billion in damages due to "the unlawful actions GM took to avoid competition with Saab Automobile in the Chinese market." Spyker accuses GM of "tortiously interfering" with Saab's business relationship with Chinese automaker Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile (Youngman), actions that Spyker CEO Victor Muller (above) said "deliberately drove Saab Automobile into bankruptcy."
(From Wikipedia: "Tortious interference, also known as intentional interference with contractual relations, in the common law of torts, occurs when a person intentionally damages the plaintiff's contractual or other business relationships.")
The interference in question specifically refers to the very last potential deal, called the Framework Agreement, that Spyker worked out with Youngman. With lots of GM engineering embedded into the 9-4X and 9-5, The General had the right to approve any Saab partnership that would involve the transfer of GM intellectual property. Spyker had been rebuffed over every previous deal with a Chinese firm, including two bids by Youngman, due to GM concerns over its IP getting into Chinese hands and having to face Chinese-market competitors using its technology. The Complaint alleges that the Framework Agreement would have put a firewall around all GM IP - Youngman would only work on Saab's Phoenix platform, said to be just about free of GM tech, and would have no access to 9-3, 9-4X or 9-5 technology until after Saab ceased all ties to GM.
Court extends Saab reorganization bid until end of November
Fri, 10 Oct 2014Saab parent company National Electric Vehicle Sweden refuses to go down without a fight. After a recent trip to court, the company is emerging with an extension on its reorganization until November 29. According to Europe Online Magazine, there's also an appointed committee of creditors and union representatives to monitor NEVS' restructuring process.
NEVS still isn't giving up hope of saving itself, and the company claims there are has two potential strategies for getting back on its feet. The main plan is to "finalize the negotiations with the two Asian automotive manufacturers," according to a press release. Those firms still aren't identified, but Mahindra may be involved. According to Europe Online Magazine, one of the businesses is looking to take partial ownership of NEVS, and the other is considering some sort of cooperation with it.
If that plan fails, the second option is to take advantage of the factory and become a contract manufacturer.
Dealership refunds student for broken Saab with bags of pennies
Fri, Jul 25 2014Every so often, we come across the story of someone trying to "stick it to the man" by paying a parking fine or speeding ticket in pennies or dimes. Never, though, have we heard of a business stooping to such cliched lengths. Enter Florida. Irena Mujakovic bought a 2003 Saab way back in January from Holiday Motors, in Jacksonville, FL. Shortly after the purchase, the transmission started acting up. She returned to the dealer and paid for the repair, and purchased a warranty for future issues. Total cost: $300. But then the trans crapped out not long after the initial repair, and Mujakovic was back at Holiday Motors. This is where things start going south. This second trip cost Mujakovic $400, with her warranty in hand. That's because the man that runs the dealer, Ed Di Miranda, neglected to mention that the warranty didn't cover labor costs. "The warranty did not cover labor and I failed to write that in and that was her loophole," Di Miranda told First Coast News. The young college student filed a complaint with the Florida DMV, who sided with her and ordered Holiday Motors to refund the money. Di Miranda and the dealership did just that, but when Mujakovic came to collect her refund, it was to a bag of pennies, with a few dollar bills sprinkled in for good measure. Di Miranda, doesn't seem to think he's done anything wrong, claiming that only about $85 was in change, while the rest was paper money. "I am doing what DMV asked me to do," Di Miranda said. "It is legal tender." Mujakovic has not collected her refund. Have a look below for the video news report. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
