2002 Saab 9-3 Se Convertible 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Covington, Ohio, United States
I am selling a 2002 Saab 9-3 SE Turbo Convertible; it is an automatic and the car runs very strong. This car has been pretty much been gone through; we replaced all that has been worn internally from an engine rebuild with new valves, new turbo and water pump, all the brakes and tires, complete A/C system, front and rear suspension to include the tie rods, control arms and ball joints not to mention numerous seals, fuel pump and filter, alternator, battery , brake lines and fittings all from Saab shop. I am sure there are more things that have been replaced and will furnish all info to the foreign car shop who has done everything to it as well. The original radio was replaced professionally only due to my son wanting a more updated system to include a USB and Ipod hook up. All of the LCD pixels in the SID and temperature control units are in perfect working order due to having new units also installed. The interior has normal wear and tear with just some fading and wear on the drivers more than passengers, there is a small burn mark as seen in picture of rear seat that was there when purchased. This car was bought for my son who wanted a convertible for his first car and since we are a Saab family we made sure the car was gone through by trusted Saab mechanics we have used previously and currently still do. This car only uses Mobil 1 and premium fuel.
Now my son wants a hard top Saab sedan as he is getting ready for college, thus the reason it is for sale now. I won't even throw out blue book or NADA values, the car is mechanically sound for the next 100k miles as we have gotten 390k out of previous Saab's in the past. This will make a great first car for anyone or for someone who loves these cars and knows the safety and longevity of these vehicles. |

GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect
Fri, 13 Jun 2014General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.
Saab owner may speed up relaunch with gas-powered 9-3
Wed, 21 Nov 2012National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owner of Saab, has good news for you if you happened to miss out on picking up a 9-3 before the company plummeted through bankruptcy. Automotive News Europe reports NEVS may offer a gasoline-powered 9-3 in 2013. That move would effectively step up the brand's re-launch plan by a full year. Originally, the company planned to introduce an electric vehicle in 2014, but NEVS is currently investigating ways to start production next summer using "a 9-3 with a traditional powertrain" in order to generate more cash for the electrification effort.
NEVS purchased Saab earlier this year with the intent of resurrecting the brand with a fully electric product portfolio. The new EVs would theoretically ride on the Saab Phoenix platform and be manufactured at the automaker's plant in Trollhattan, Sweden. The report of a resurrected gasoline model came courtesy of Mikael Oestlund, a company spokesperson familiar with the company's workings.
NEVS Sango autonomous shuttle rises from the ashes of Saab
Sat, Jul 4 2020National Electric Vehicles Sweden (NEVS), the company that purchased Saab's bankrupt carcass in 2012, has introduced an autonomous ride-sharing shuttle named Sango and announced plans to test it in real-world conditions. It also outlined a system named PONS that will allow operators and riders to connect with the shuttle. Saab famously claimed its cars were born from jets, but the Sango looks more like something you'd find in a store that sells small kitchen appliances than on an aircraft carrier sailing across the Atlantic. It wasn't designed to go fast, or to deliver engaging handling. Stylists intentionally gave it a boxy silhouette to maximize interior space and let operators offer three cabin configurations called private, social, and family, respectively. Its six seats can be moved around and rotated as needed, and the passengers can raise privacy walls if they don't feel like socializing with fellow riders. The shuttle's seating capacity drops to four with the walls raised. Chinese technology firm AutoX provided the Sango's self-driving hardware and software, though NEVS pointed out its shuttle is modular enough to use any autonomous system on the market. This is a wise strategy that widens its target audience. Operators will in theory be able to choose whether they want to purchase a turn-key self-driving shuttle or buy the basic structure and stuff their own technology into it. NEVS grouped the app customers will use to request a ride and a fleet management system into a software package it named PONS. Technical specifications haven't been released. All we know is that it's electric. NEVS confidently stated autonomous shuttles are closer to the mainstream than many think. "Getting from A to B with self-driving electric vehicles is not as far off as perhaps the car industry is implying. The era of one person per car and the era of owning a car are soon things of the past," opined Anna Haupt, the company's vice president of mobility solutions, in a statement. Engineers have started testing the first running Sango prototype at NEVS' headquarters in Trollhattan, Sweden. Looking ahead, the company plans to deploy a fleet of 10 autonomous shuttles in Stockholm, where they will be used by members of the general public. Autoblog learned from a company representative that testing will probably start in 2022, and that the firm is taking COVID-19-related concerns into account.
