For Auction is a 1995 SAAB 9000 Aero Turbo, Automatic, NON TCS Car. 147K Miles, This Car is in Good Condition. It needs Minor work to be roadworthy again and I will detail exactly what work it needs. First though, This car was owned previously by a 50 year old mans mother who took very good care of it and dealer serviced it at Stetson Saab in Warren Maine before they closed. The Head gasket was done a couple of years ago and has very few miles on it since then. Many other gaskets, Hoses and a new radiator were also installed at that time. It Runs Perfect with no leaks. The Transmission Shifts properly and has good clean looking fluid in it. The Interior is very clean and has original floormats still. Carpets underneath are very clean. THE HEADLINER IS PERFECT! how many times do you hear that in a SAAB advertisement? Aero Seats are still very nice though there is an abrasion on the drivers bolster only, which has gone through the material as you can see in the photos. The Rest of the seats are in fantastic shape. The Body condition is good, but not perfect. Has some typical rust around the wheel arches on the drivers side which has been repaired previously and the rear wheel arch moulding on the drivers side has been replaced with a non aero one. The Passenger side is clean with no rust on the arches. The car is still very good and straight looking, The Headlights are Clear and beautiful and I should probably be keeping them for my 93 Aero! Nice Harmon Karden Stereo System which works properly and sounds Great.
Regarding the repairs it needs, here is the list; - Right front wheel bearing - Rear Muffler and Exhaust Coupling about midway back, front Flexpipe and Muffler looks newer - Both Heater Core and Blower Motor Need Replacement and I am Including a NEW BOSCH Blower Motor! - The ABS Light comes on after driving for a minute and is likely related to the Front wheel Bearing. - Could use a pair of Front tires, the Rear ones are new. Brakes work well and front brakes are like new, the rear are ok, the e brake needs adjustment. The Car can be driven home possibly within the New england area but I recommend coming for it with a dolly or trailer instead or at least having the wheel bearing replaced before making the trip. If you know about these cars, then you know how comfortable, efficient, satisfying and High Performance they can be to own and drive! They are also highly tuneable to the tune of over 300 HP with ease! It is getting harder to find them with lower mileage in good condition for a fair price. Bid to BUY IT! because I have set a low reserve. I have 2 other 93 AEROS that I love and several other fun SAABS so come take this nice 9000 off my hands. thanks and good luck, Please call with any questions, for more pictures etc... 207-478-6918 Happy to assist with shipping but at your cost. Reserving to end the auction early for any reason.

National Electric Vehicle stops Saab 9-3 production amidst financing woes
Tue, 20 May 2014It seems that quirky, Swedish automaker Saab might be on life support yet again. Its owner, National Electric Vehicle Sweden, has announced that it's reducing its workforce and temporarily halting production of the 9-3 due to financial problems. NEVS was only building six cars a day, anyway.
The company put out a press release admitting its economic woes, but it still appeared hopeful. NEVS claims it's developing "a new platform on the Phoenix architecture," and it has a frame agreement with an international automotive OEM. It didn't give any specific details about either one of these assertions though. According to The Wall Street Journal, NEVS needs the partnership to lower development costs in order to stay afloat. Saab spokesperson Mikael Ostlund told Autoblog in an email that the stop in production of the 9-3 in Trollhättan would last four weeks.
NEVS says it's in negotiation to sell a portion of the company to an automotive company. Its current monetary woes are caused by shareholder Qingbo Investment Company not financing the company as agreed. "We plan to have the results of the discussions at latest during June," said Ostlund.
Grainy leaked images show stillborn Castriota-designed Saab 9-3
Mon, 04 Feb 2013The Saab faithful are going to be playing the "what if" game for years to come. It's one of the burdens of being a fan of a dead brand. A fresh batch of grainy 9-3 Phoenix images have made their way online, alleged shots of a design proposal penned by none other than Jason Castriota. The five-door looks to feature an honest liftback, though SaabsUnited.com says this particular vehicle was drawn up as part of a business plan in early 2011. As such, Castriota apparently told the site the final product was to look much more athletic than what we see here. While the low-resolution images make it difficult to tell much about the design, we certainly appreciate the familiar roofline, full band taillamps and the contrasting rear spoiler reminiscent of the old Saab 99 and 900 ducktails.
Unfortunately, we know all too well why this creation never saw the light of day. Would-be savior Victor Muller couldn't quite pull Saab out of its nosedive, and the company fell into bankruptcy before the 9-3 Phoenix could get off the ground. There's talk of the Phoenix platform and Saab brand having new life in other markets as EVs and even as gas cars, but the model seen here will likely never see production - let alone North American showrooms.

Rare 9-5 SportCombi, 9-4X models being sold off in Saab asset auction
Mon, 03 Dec 2012Saab lovers take notice. Swedish auction house KVD has some ultra rare Saab products on the block, and we're not talking about a 1950s Saab 92. Up for auction are a bunch of low-mileage Saab models being sold off as part of the bankrupted automaker's assets. Included in the lot of cars are models like the 2012 9-5 SportCombi (above), the 2012 9-4X (shown below) and even a 9-5 sedan driven by Victor Muller himself.
Discovered by PistonHeads, this Saab auction has numerous 9-5 SportCombi and 9-4X models, which should prove to be very rare cars. Only a small number of 9-4Xs were ever sold, and Saab closed up shop before the 9-5 SportCombi could even go on sale here. In addition to the rarity, many of the cars have fewer than 10 miles on their odometers and seemingly low reserve prices; a 9-4X 3.0 XWD Premium with just six miles has a current bid of 180,000 Swedish Krona (just over $27,000 USD) that has already met the reserve price. Some of the cars still have the protective factory shipping tape covering up the interior and exterior.
Other than the rare SportCombis and 9-4Xs being auctioned off, there's also a sharp 2012 9-3 Cabriolet with 11 miles on the clock and a V8-powered 2006 Saab 9-7X with just 3,003 miles.
