You can bid with confidence on this classic 900S with an 89 SPG retrofit. It has a normally aspirated engine(which is why the transmission still works). The car is originally a California car and I moved it to Indiana 2 years ago. Only serviced by Saab enthusiast mechanics, but it  hasn't needed much since I bought it 5 years ago, with 165,000 miles on it.

You are looking at a classic Saab, so I presume you know something  about these cars.
Here is the skinny; New (excellent used)bronze tinted windshield, new front brake pads, new throttle dashpot, new spark plugs, newer fuel pump, Right side outer CVJ boot, newer AC fan. Headliner is 5 years old and a little stained. The seats are out of a 90,000 mile car so they are comfortable and purple. Has typical aftermarket Alpine stereo but CD does not work, has MP3 dock input.
The Air conditioner works and was retrofitted 4 years ago with R134 refrigerant.
I have recently taken 2 cross country trips with this car. One to the outer limits of Maine and the other to South Carolina. The only issue was with the shift shaft coupler which was replaced.
This car consistently gets 33 MPG on the highway and does not burn ANY oil.
Now for what I know that it needs; Steering rack leaks, steering knuckle binds. Needs a new exhaust, but is wrapped and quiet! The central lock does not work, due to wire insulation deterioration and a short somewhere. This deterioration is also occurring on the wires to the cruise control and it will disengage over a stiff bump. The vacuum hoses for this unit are new so this is not the issue. As I said it works.
Fuel filler neck leaks, I have the replacement. Tachometer works intermittently.
A good freeze, helped to tear the weatherstrip loose on the drivers door, so there is some leakage that occurs when it rains. I doubt there is rust under this area, but this needs to be addressed.
I painted this car myself 5 years ago, spot filler only in body(really) and replaced the passenger door and hood from different cars. there are no dents, no rust through(anywhere) including front suspension trouble area!
This is a 27 year old car with 252,000 miles on it. It is by no means perfect but I obviously will drive it anywhere AND SO CAN YOU. IT NEEDS SOME THINGS, but I am done with it. This has been a truly wonderful and fun car and by far the best car of my 31 cars, that I have ever owned!!!
I have extra SPG parts for left and right middle section of the car along with the rails. Many extra parts as shown, including nice bright Hella headlights. Also a tow bumper and a tow bar. I moved with this behind a motorhome.

Saab signs deal to sell 20,000 electric cars in China

Fri, Jan 15 2016

Another quarter, another gargantuan deal for National Electric Vehicle Sweden (Nevs), the Chinese-backed firm that bought the assets to Saab in 2012 and then spent two years getting out of financial trouble. The company just announced that it has agreed to a framework deal with China Volant Industry Co. (Volinco), a firm whose principal business is import and export of aerospace equipment and technologies. The tentative Volinco order is worth 8.5 billion Swedish crowns ($996 million US) for 20,000 electric cars that will be delivered between 2017 and 2020. A final purchase order is expected to be finalized later. In December, Nevs signed a deal worth $12 billion to provide 150,000 electric cars to Panda New Energy, a Chinese EV leasing company. That deal will also see Nevs provide 100,000 electric vehicle products and services to companies that Nevs works with. As with the Volinco deal, Nevs will build and paint components for its Saab 9-3 EV in Trollhattan, Sweden then ship the kits to China for final assembly. Given the number and size of its recent deals, it shouldn't be a surprise that Nevs is building a factory in Tianjin, China that will be ready in 2020. Volinco apparently plans to use the trove as company cars for employees. The final agreement will also include giving Nevs access to a range of the aerospace firm's suppliers to assist with its production plans. Nevs is also working with Dongfeng and Renesas Electronics to help develop its current and future cars. Spyker's $3B lawsuit against GM for blocking Saab sale thrown out

Tue, 11 Jun 2013

US District Judge Gershwin Drain has dismissed a $3-billion lawsuit Spyker filed against General Motors. In the suit, Spyker accused GM of attempting to bankrupt Saab after the US automaker had already sold the company to Spyker. GM in effect blocked the sale of Saab to China's Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Company by prohibiting the transfer of some of its intellectual property. But the court found that GM had a "contractual right" to approve or disapprove any change of ownership. Furthermore, Reuters reports Judge Drain said the contract between GM and Spyker "is clear, unambiguous and absolute" on the matter.
GM, meanwhile, says it is pleased with the ruling. Spyker CEO Victor Muller has not said whether or not his company will appeal the ruling. The Dutch automaker is expected to make a final decision once the court issues its written order on the case.
You can read the official Spyker press release about the court ruling below for more information.

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
