This is a NO RESERVE listing.

This is my 2008 Saab 9-7x Aero SUV.  This is an ultra-rare, very collectible SUV- only 500 of them were made in 2008.  This was the most powerful, most expensive Saab ever made.

This SUV was built by the GM Performance Division, and it uses the same 6.0L LS2 V8 engine as the Chevy Corvette and Pontiac GTO of the time.  The 9-7x Aero is in fact a more luxurious and better-looking version of the Chevy TrailBlazer SS.

The uniqueness, high horsepower, and astonishing performance of the few 9-7X Aero vehicles built has increased their value and is now turning them into prized and sought-after collectibles.

The Aero package includes the 390HP engine, beefed-up automatic transmission, limited-slip differential, 20" wheels, improved suspension, plus "Aero" embroidered leather seats and floormats.  This superb Aero will accelerate from 0-60 in less than 6 seconds- amazing!

You will not find a nicer 9-7x Aero for sale, if you can find one at all.

This Saab has the following equipment and options:

  • 6.0L LS2 V8 with 390 HP
  • full-time AWD
  • automatic transmission
  • power moonroof
  • leather upholstery with "Aero" embroidery
  • heated seats
  • touch-screen DVD-based navigation system integrated with BOSE premium audio
  • rear seat DVD entertainment system with flip-down screen and wireless headphones
  • OnStar
  • traction control and ABS brakes
  • power locks and power windows
  • 20" aluminum wheels
  • power adjustable pedals
  • towing package

This 9-7x has every option that was available- it is a fully loaded luxury SUV with astonishing horsepower, acceleration, handling and braking.

This 9-7x Aero is in excellent condition.  The paint and body are in very good condition- the car has never been in any accidents and it has a clean Carfax report.  The paint is all original with the exception of the front bumper, which has been resprayed due to stone nicks and looks superb.  The body is clean and excellent and the paint is in superb condition.  You cannot find fault with the body or exterior of this truck.

The interior of this SUV is in very nice condition.  The leather seats are clean, soft and in great shape.  The carpets are clean and well-kept.  This interior is very nice.

This 9-7x starts, runs and drives great.  The engine runs perfectly and the transmission, suspension, brakes and handling are very good.  There are no known mechanical problems and there are no warning lights illuminated on the dash.

This is a superb 9-7x Aero.  Please keep in mind that this is a 2008, not a 2013.  It has normal and very minor wear and tear that you'd expect for the age.  It has been extremely well cared-for and it is in great shape.

I have two keys, plus the books and manuals, plus the navigation DVD disc.

You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive this car home.  You may also wish to have the car shipped- I highly recommend Angels Moving Autos at 530 245 0481.

This car is kept in my garage in Willoughby, OH.

NEVS mulling electric Saab 9-3 convertible, looking for engine partners, too

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

Do you believe in reincarnation? Like how we hope that, maybe, all of our hard work as auto writers will result in an eventual return as a swarm of beautiful butterflies. If you are a Saab fan, the equivalent could be this bit of news: The 9-3 Convertible may rise again, as an electric vehicle.
Word comes from the Dutch version of Autoweek that Chinese entity National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) has indicated that it will bring an electric version of the 9-3 Convertible to market in the next 18 months. The EV droptop would first debut in the Chinese market, but could expand, as could the lineup to other 9-3 variants, such as the sedan and SportCombi. A NEVS spokesperson has stated, "NEVS basically no doors holds." We're not sure if that's the spokesperson or the translation from the Dutch report, but you get the gist.
NEVS also indicated that conventionally powered versions of the 9-3 could be produced as well. The internal combustion engines could be the originally intended General Motors engines. Regardless of powerplant, we would be very eager to see Saab return, potentially as an EV to boot!

Ultra-rare 2011 Saab 9-4X up for grabs on Cars & Bids

Sun, Aug 1 2021

Saab's sad saga is full of might-have-beens and missed opportunities. As the 21st century dawned, it became clear that the Saab brand could not survive without an SUV in its lineup. In 2005, the 9-2X, a badge-engineered Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, was rushed into production (GM being a part-owner of Subaru parent company Fuji Heavy Industries at the time). That same year same GM also put a new nose on the distinctly mediocre Chevrolet TrailBlazer and peddle that as the Saab 9-7X. The last of the GM-based Saab SUVs was the 9-4X, which was mechanically twinned with the second-generation Cadillac SRX and built alongside it in Mexico. By the time the model was introduced for 2011, GM had already off-loaded Saab. But the new ownership would be short-lived, and production of the 9-4X ended after only a handful of 2012 models had rolled down the line. It's believed that a total of only 803 9-4Xs were built, of which 622 were sold in the United States, which explains why you haven't seen one lately. Or, perhaps, ever. But now you can buy one, as this 2011 example is available right now on Cars & Bids. This is a top-spec Aero version, which means it gets a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 and the Saab-developed X-drive all-wheel drive, rather than the naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V6 in the base and Premium trims. That gives you 300 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, although this one sports a VTuner Stage 0 tune, so it could have more. With five days still to go, bidding stands at $8,500. For the Saab fans out there, don't let this be another missed opportunity. Related Video: Saab 9-4X concept introduced at Detroit Auto Show

Meet the other Cadillac wagon. It's as American as ABBA

Tue, Aug 16 2022

The Cadillac CTS Wagon became a cult classic the second it went on sale. We all knew that it was never going to sell in anything approaching significant numbers, and if that "we" didn't include those actually working at GM, one would have to wonder what they were smoking. Cadillac was still having a hard enough time trying to convince people that it was now a BMW-fighting sport luxury brand rather than the purveyor of Grandpa-piloted land yachts. To many, a sport sedan like the CTS seemed like a stretch. But a CTS sport wagon? It sure seemed like GM was just doing things for funzies, an impression only enhanced by the CTS-V Wagon. Forget cult classic. That thing was an instant legend.  And yet, the CTS wasn't the only Cadillac of that era offered as a wagon. It wasn't even the first. Before GM said "to hell with it, let's have some fun" on this side of the pond, over in Europe, it had already taken a page from its old badge-engineering playbook to create the 2006 Cadillac BLS Wagon. It was available as a sedan, too, but its awkward majesty is best enjoyed as the long-roof model.  There's just something off about the whole thing, right? That's probably because it also looks vaguely familiar, as if you've seen it before. So where the hell does this thing come from? Sweden! Behind that Cadillac Art and Science face is a Saab 9-3, and in the case of the BLS Wagon, the Saab 9-3 Sport Combi wagon. The roofline is the dead giveaway, as no other wagon has ever looked like that. In fact, the roof and windows were the only exterior elements to copy directly over from 9-3 to BLS. No kidding. With the Cadillac front end, doesn't the Saab-funky-boxiness make it look like a miniature hearse? The answer is yes. GM's design team, led by Ed Welburn, was quite pleased with his work. Perhaps it even egged him on to create a real Cadillac sport wagon? "The whole team was very excited to apply Cadillac's design language to a wagon for the first time," said Welburn in a press release from the time. "The V-shaped chrome-plated grille, a Cadillac hallmark, is picked up again by the shape of the rear window, and the body side character lines make it unmistakably a Cadillac." The interior is surprisingly different from the 9-3, including the ignition switch migrating from the center console up to the steering column. It also wasn't exactly in keeping with the Cadillac norm of the time.
